that which arises out of the "depths of consciousness" rather than the left brain, beta consciousness, "ego tainted" ones? ones that are prompted by "the higher self" and thus facilitated by the portion of us all that is connected by/to the "universal unconscious"? the ones that foster the vision that creates art like "six persimmons" ? ;-)

In a nutshell, viewing the forest but not only the tree. If you view a problem/situation from your exclusive perspective you will likely have a narrow vision and/or few possible solutions to it. If you see the problem/situation putting yourself in others shoes, and analyzing its consequences and effects on others (people, environment, companies, economy, ethnic groups, religions, idiosyncrasies, etc.) you will have a totally different and deeper vision and accordingly may find as well other solutions, (but also new problems).
A higher though goes beyond yourself and considers the external world surrounding you. By essence is not a selfish thought.

Higher thought is thinking about more than yourself. It's thinking about what's best for your family, friends, etc, thinking about spiritual things, academic things, things that are nothing to do with our own fleshly feelings and desires.

How often I watched
As I passed by
On my way to school
The old grand oak,
And how often I wished
To say a word or two
But never knew how
Until one day
I rested under its bough
In the midday sun
Quiet, and looking through
Blue skies above
