I know the very basic steps, but having trouble with turns and more complicated steps. My real instructor moves fast and my whole class is latino, so they already know a bit...why my class is called beginner is beyond me, but I'm keeping up somewhat.

I have always loved dancing, it's healthy and fun, but I keep reading that it's the most unacceptable thing a pensioner can do. Seems it's OK for us to pay for and clean up after younger people, but we're not supposed to dance in public.

When did this prejudice start ? I certainly don't remember saying abusive things about my parents' generation dancing, and although we thought the dances they did were naff, I don't remember anyone saying they shouldn't do it.

Incidentally, I'm not overweight, I work out at the gym and I can dance. But even if I couldn't, why aren't I allowed to have fun ?

My son doesn't want to invite any of my generation to his birthday party because he fears we might dance. He'll be accpeting presents from us, I expect though.

I am attempting to make a calendar for a Christmas gift and would like to take a picture of lighted carved pumpkins for October. Does anyone have any good tips on getting a good shot? I tried it before and they ended up blurry or just not what I had pictured....

I have a Kodak Easyshare digital camera, if that helps!

and why do people from one religion think that other religions are wrong or that their religion is the best one, and why do religious people often try to persuade others (like me) that they should become religious? Is it not dangerous to hold beliefs so strongly? Will religion ever cease to exist? If so will we have a more peaceful world? I know a lot of nice religious people, so I don't have a problem with them. My problem is that I don't understand this at all, and I can't in any way relate to the idea that there is something like a god anywhere except in the minds of people here and there, and some of them seem not to be very wise and reflective people who have just accepted these beliefs because they were taught them as children. Please help.

Like most of us around the world, I've been bombarded with images of the twin-tower come tumbling down; the screaming Yanks running along the street; the cries of how hardly-done-by they were...and all the rest of it.

But also like many around the world I've watched as that country played their own political games in other countries backyards; the total lack of respect shown for anything not American; the arrogance; the global bullying. I've also had to watch the voting in of one after another President who has sanctioned such methods.

I'm no supporter of terrorist tactics, but after the actions of America following 9/11; after the way they had the audacity to re-elect Bush (the very epitome of all that is to be despised in that country) - am I the only left wondering if the US got off way too lightly??
