I'm fairly new to "artsy" kinds of photos, and would really appreciate the feedback on this.

Sam:
yeah that was the idea. I was hoping to use this for a possible front page shot about a cemetery.

this is one of many graves that was moved displaced when the government gave the land to the military to create camp lejeune in the early 1900s. Some of these graves date back to the early 1800s.

I really like it! You have an eye for what makes a picture interesting. But do you know what would make it even better? Straighten the horizon (I tend to do that too--it's easy to fix in editing), and maybe crop so the light and stone are just a bit off to the left. I want to see more of what's to the right. That would give it better balance, I think, and make it an amazing pic.

Wow! I really like the one of the boots! You can see the motion--and the commotion--you just want to get out of there before you get tromped! That one's my fave! You have some good ones. Definately a photojournalist's eye.

The photograph is beautiful. The subject is interesting, especially at this time of year. It is well-balanced. I like the symmetry of the lines in the trees and the rays of sunlight. The way the gravestone is illuminated by the light is excellent. I would say that this is a job very well done!!!

I really think it's beautiful. I really do. I love how the camera catches the light, which shafts diagnally through the trees. The soft mud adds a mysterious layout to the setting of the cemetery.

one word WOW!. that is a really good photo. i am not "artsy" either but that is something i would love to have a copy of. It does help that i have a weird fascination with grave yards. but the lighting and it being in black and white. i don't know but i really like that. keep up the good work! I would love to being able to do that.

This is a wonderful photograph. It is spiritual and reverent. The light seems to bestow a blessing on the slaves in the cemetery. It is as it were saying you were mistreated in life and disturbed in death, but you will receive your reward in heaven.

Nice composition with a message, intended or otherwise. This seems to imply that the deceased have ascended "into the light."

I like it, I love the rays coming through the trees. Black and whites are awesome.

I think it's ok. (I know I couldn't do that!) The camera is a little lopsided.
