The smurfs awaited
they hummed as they contemplated,
they waited and they waited for who knows what.
The rest of the world was unaware
Of the smurfs as they waited and tehy waited
looking out across the disjointed view
They tried to make sense of the reason
Behind the wait
Who had passed the decree they should merely sit
While those around dart back and forth
About their daily grind
But maybe they have it right after all
For to wait is to anticipate
And don't we always hope for more
For better
For longer
For ever more special
And the smurf clings to this hope and belief
That as they wait it can only be good in the end.
