wikipedia.com online encycolpedia example:
Native Americans is a term which has several different common meanings and scope, according to regional use and context. See the below articles, which describe various indigenous peoples in the following contexts:
The U.S. states and several of the inhabited insular areas that are not part of the continental U.S. also contain indigenous groups. Some of these other indigenous peoples in the United States, including the Inuit, Yupik Eskimos, and Aleuts, are not always counted as Native Americans, although the US Census 2000 demographics listed "American Indian and Alaskan Native" collectively. Nor are Native Hawaiians (also known as Kanaka MÄoli and Kanaka 'Oiwi) or various other Pacific Islander American peoples such as the Chamorros.

It depends on what you're looking for exactly. There are thousands of groups in the US and in Canada. If you're looking for Native American history, then that's what you'd enter into the search engine. If you're looking for a particular group, then make sure you have it spelled correctly, and that's what you enter in the search engine.
If you're studying Native American History, then your professor or high school teacher should've provided instructions on what to search for, read, write, etc.
If you're doing this on your own, then you have to sit down, write down what it is you want to know about them, check for correct spellings of certain groups, go to the local library if you have to They'll help you at the information desk if you're stumped.
Good luck on your search. :-)
