Why do you think there was a rapid evolution in Greek sculpture toward naturalistic and idealized nude figures? Do you think there is a connection between a move toward democracy and a move toward naturalism?

I sometimes wonder in what ways we are really progressing as a species. Some are pretty clear, I see life-span estimates all the time, but I wonder if anyone has tried to measure the level of suffering we have inflicted on each other over time. For this question, we could say it's just war, murder, execution, one human killing another on purpose. I am generally curious about historical estimates of this type if anyone knows where to look for such information.

Not sure if I put this question in the right section...but anyway.

Basically I've had this Barnes and Noble card for a while, but the store is sooooo far away. Plus the nearby Borders also has a wider selection of stuff. So really just a simple yes no question.

Why do black people still complain about slavery as if they were part of it? If you weren’t part of it shouldn’t you shut up about?

AAAAAAAH! I don't know what to pick....cause two of my friends and I are gonna do "You Gotta Get a Gimmick" from Gypsy...and then I might do a scene from Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe with this dude...And I wanna try out for this Quintet that our teacher wants us to do......ANYWAYS!

Well, I'm not sure if I should do another song from Gypsy...like Roses Turn...or if I should do Don't Rain on My Parade from Funny Girl...Or something from Dream Girls...

I just don't wanna do something that I know a lot of people are gonna do...you know?...Like last year...a lot of people did Rent...becuase the movie was coming out...and a lot of people do Chicago and stuff...Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have any books been written on the differences between British and American business cultures and dealings? I have found books on general cultural differences, but not on business in particular.

The months of the year all have Roman origins yet the days of the week are all named after Anglo Saxon, Danish or Germanic deities...(with the single exception of Saturday). Why aren't the days of the week named after Roman gods or Goddesses too? Why are one lot Roman and the other North European? Why not ALL Roman or all North European? Why the mix?
