Not a very good question. If Wilde were born today or even 30/40 years ago, he wouldn't be anything like the Wilde of the late 19th century. He'd be formed by a different age and would have quite different responses to it. He would be influenced less by French symbolist poetry and more by popular music; he wouldn't have been forced to conceal his homosexuality, so he would never have been the subject of a scandal about it. So it's not merely pointless but impossible to imagine him writing today - if anyone were to write his plays today, they'd be rightly regarded as a freakish and pretentious throwback.

Don't get me wrong - he was a genius all right. But for the reasons given above, your question can have no sensible answer.

He was incredibly intelligent and talented so in all probability yes. It might have been interesting to see in which field though, I'm not sure he would have bothered so much with theatre. He never wrote lengthy novels either but his non-fiction work was also fantastic, 'Soul of Man Under Socialism' is incredibly prescient about what was to come and that was a political work. Perhaps he could have been a screenwriter or columnist but I don't think either would have accorded him such a big profile.

No, he wrote for a literate audience.By literate I don't mean the ability to read only but also to use language. One that could sit through and did attend plays. Popular speech and reading was broader in scope, language, and requirement of the reader and listener to participate by thinking and knowing if only by deduction what was being said. Today TV leaves no room for thought or deduction. People are dumber, frankly and wouldn't get it.

Difficult to say, if he was just starting out today the literacy world
is more diverse than in Wilde's day and he would need to establish himself in a more progressive and competitive environment. Although he could rise to the challenge!

Genius is genius in whatever age. He would probably be writing comedies for TV or films.

Probably more so, since it's now fashionable to be gay. Back then, his lifestyle (not just the gay part) was actually a deterrent from reading his works.
