I'm writing a new book in which the main character goes through many modern day obstacles to discover the truth to a conspiracy. There is a girl with whom he works and eventually falls in love (at the end) but I can't figure out a fitting name for her. She's independent and can easily defend herself. She's the type who feels life is sometimes better without the burdens of love, until she meets the main character. She's of good height (5' 10" or so), brunette, and in-shape. She's very intelligent and level-headed. But I need a name that is both "sexy" or "feminine," but also dignified--for a girl anyway. The main character's name is Patrick, so a name that goes well with his would be good as well. I was hoping to make her of western European decent, probably either French or Italian. But anything else is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for the help.

My Homer is a little rusty. Can you remind me why he was off in his ship and what he was searching for? What did he find a long the way?

How is man, in apprehension, like god? ... 10 points to the person who gives a good answer

definitely with a parallel stream of vagueness and doubt. Miracles alone cannot make one to have absolute faith and it does not happen to all. Belief in god, I feel makes one a climber not a tree - it always wants to lean on. A believer and a non-believer meet at a point - believer attributes his miseries also to the action of god though with a heavy heart whereas a non-believer takes it as it comes and tries to find a way or fails without leaning on unknown factor - at least he does not feel disappointed due to his non-leaning attitude and due to absence of reciprocal expectations which is inherent in a believer. In a way it seems to be good I feel - no leaning, no expectation and no disappointment. What is going to happen is sure to happen; why then this leaning?

What did people think about it at the time it was created?

People here keeps claiming that God exists uncaused, uncreated and unborn, and that he exists timeless. And that he does not consist of carbon atoms or any kind of matter or energy that is a property of this universe.

I just wonder, where people get this from? Is it written down somewhere (in the Bible, Quran or elsewhere) or is it just their local priest telling them this?

I'm just very curious about this - I hope I'm not offending anyone...
