If we did not go to war with the taliban, and later with Hussein, more american civilians lives would be lost, correct? Probably a larger number than the troops that have died so far. So why are we complaining? I am not downplaying the value of the soldiers lives, I think it is a terrible thing when you have to lay down your life in the face of someones hatred. But Which is the better alternative, massive attacks on our soil or theirs?

The Toyota A-BAT is a small pickup truck mounted on (basically) a Prius platform. It will be shown at the Detroit Auto Show in 2008. Attention, Toyota!!! If you make it, I will buy it, and so will a lot of other people. Right now, there is no pickup under $30,000 that will get more than 30 miles per gallon or so.

How many of you understand "drag and drop" It is very important. On the site women and girls will be able to select and embellish their new pair of jeans. In a market test it appears many women did not understand the graphic directions on the site. I need to use words that most wormen are familiar with. If you don't understand drag and drop say no. If you understand drag and drop say yes.

President Signs AMT Patch

On December 26, President Bush signed the Tax Increase Prevention Act of 2007 [HR 3996]. The legislation was passed to prevent an estimated 25 million taxpayers from becoming subject to AMT. The Act increases the AMT exemption amount for 2007 to $66,250 for married individuals filing jointly and surviving spouses, $44,350 for single taxpayers and taxpayers filing as heads of households, and $33,125 for married couples filing separately. The new law allows taxpayers to use most nonrefundable personal tax credits to offset AMT liability.

Now that the AMT patch has been signed into law, the big question is how the late timing of this change will impact the upcoming filing season. - The IRS just announced that for most taxpayers, the late passage will not impact their ability to file early in the season, beginning in mid-January. However, approximately 3 to 4 million taxpayers will be impacted and will not be able to file until February 11. The delay is the result of the system programming changes that need to be made at IRS to process returns that have any of the following forms to submit with their return:

1. Form 8863, Education Credits.
2. Form 5695, Residential Energy Credits.
3. Form 1040A's Schedule 2, Child and Dependent Care Expenses for Form 1040A filers.
4. Form 8396, Mortgage Interest Credit.
5. Form 8859, District of Columbia First-Time Homebuyer Credit.

I know someone with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder) who will not quit smoking, and is therefore constantly ill with bronchitis and pneumonia.

I know of a person with severe arthritis in her legs, who is so crippled by her disease that only surgery will help. Her arthritis would be cured by surgery, completely gone, and she would have a normal life. Yet she refuses.

I find it exceedingly difficult to continue being sympathetic and compassionate to these people, (and others like them) and I find I am distancing myself from them. I may even be a little bitter, because their refusal to help themselves is affecting everyone around them negatively, yet they don't see it.

How do you continue to deal with people who just drag you down with them?

I was walking my beagle around the park the other day, and this middle aged woman, actually stopped me and asked me what kind of dog I have and I said beagle, she looked at me with all seriousness and said "that is one ugly beagle" later on we kept walking and Honey (my dog) barked at another dog, and we kept going and as I was leaving getting in my car the woman came over to and said her bark was terrible, saying she worked at the SPCA and she has never seen or heard a beagle like mine. This really hurt my feelings, I love my dog and want the best for her. I find out that this woman works at my SPCA do I go confront her for my dog and I, because I'm starting a internship there in Febuary. Or do I let it go and just figure she is ignorant and arogant?
