And not just ANY philosopher, I'm talking about philosophers who specialize in philosophy of mind and whom have the credentials to speak with authority on the subject. Philosophers of religion are not qualified. To analogize, would you go to a gynecologist for psychiatric problems?

Substance dualism is the idea that a human being is composed of two substances: the physical substance of the brain that can be examined and studied with the scientific method, and a supernatural "soul" substance that defies all attempts at understanding or discovery with the scientific method.

In my various intellectual pursuits, I have not found one scientist specializing in neurobiology or any philosopher specializing in philosophy of mind to uphold this idea of substance dualism.

This is indeed a CRUSHING blow to religion in general, specifically Christianity, because the idea of an immortal soul is central to most religions.

How s does one control bad internet habits like causual conversations with women when you are in a commited relationship? I understand just talking is not a problem but every now and then things will get flirtatious and go over board. How does one get around this temptation? If they can't get around it do they live with it or go get help? I am not talkin about porn. Is this hurting anyone elses relationship?

I've seen so many questions about Madonna - based on what she has accomplished over the years, she qualifies to be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame....

Other artists include Hank Williams & The Sex Pistols, neither of which are Rock N Roll by "our" definition...

When our country was founded, it was done so on the principal that we are "By the people and for the people." However, I don't think that our government is anywhere near for and by the people. IMO there is a group of politically elite people who are in control, and we as citizens have much less influence than they would like us to believe. I would like to know what other people think about that, and also, what needs to be done in order to get the American people more directly involved and in control?

I've heard the arguement that if the rich are allowed to keep more money by being taxed less, that they will have more to spend towards jobs and growth.
If the 'death' tax was lifted, wouldn't the rich be less apt to reinvest in society and simply keep passing the money on to their own generations? How does that help the middle class other than to increase THEIR tax burdon?

I'm buying one for a gift. Have NO clue if a 10 volt is ok, or if I should pay double for an 18 volt ? They also want a cordless one. Is it better to buy the 'pack' or buy tool & ...is it 'battery' or 'charger' seperately ?This is for 'around the house' projects.... it's not being used by a professional handyman or anything. Although I was told that they wanted a 'heavy duty' one.... but what's enuf rpms, or whatever they're called ? :)
I've read anywhere from 0-2000 but I've seen saws with 2500 and 3000 also. What's overkill on this ?

I posted a website from NASA stating that the majority of climatoligists support man made global warming, but they still won't believe it.

They'll say that actually most scientists don't believe it, but then provide no evidence of that.

Can conservatives name even three SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATIONS against man made global warming?

I am fed up with real trees for the holidays so I have decided to get a fake tree once they go on sale. I am wondering what brand someone would suggest as being the best out there. I have had a few in the past and some didn't make it to year two or three. I am wanting one that is between 8 and 10 feet tall and I have priced them and I don;t want to spend a shoot load of money on something that won't last. can anyone suggest a brand that they feel is well worth the money??

Allso, are the trees that are pre-lit worth the few extra dollars? Thanks!
