Ten guys work at a factory, each makes $1,000 per week with good benefits--then the company is sold.

The new management fires five of the guys, and tells four of those remaining that they will just have to work harder to also accomplish the tasks the five fired guys had been doing. They understand this will take more time, but they are not willing to offer a pay raise. The benefits package is also cut to improve the dividends paid to shareholders and the salary of the CEO.

They then appoint the tenth guy First Assistant Chief Vice Manager, and start paying him $8,000 per week.

Now the ten guys make $12,000 a week between them instead of the ten grand they made last month.

My hubby and I have lived in a small townhome (800 sq ft) for 2 years. We had poor credit and no down payment at the time of purchase, so we got a high interest rate, and only have about $2000 equity. The place is too small, ARM set to adjust soon, and payments are already too high. While our credit is MUCH better now we still have no money saved since the payments are so high. I will be the first to admit we rushed into buying the place as the payments are too high and we didn't realize it would be so expensive to refinance (also did not expect our baby at time!). We listed the place for sale and it has been on the market for 6 mo w/little interest and no offers. My question is, does it make sense for us to purchase a new home (we are approved w/VA at 6.0% no $ down), go back to renting, or refinance even though we do not plan on staying much longer? And in such a bad market does it make sense to take a loss in order to take advantage of a low cost newer home? Thanks...

twice. Today was the 1st time I saw it. She has been in and out of counseling with no apparent improvement. The main problem is that our mental health insurance coverage has a $2000 deductible and we can't afford weekly $75 therapist visits. We are trying to raise 6 people on 1 $37,000 income. Does anyone know of some help that would be less expensive?

Tomorrow, the awards ceremony will again be held in NYC at the Waldorf-Astoria. Why?
NASCAR's roots are in the South. Many drivers and crew members are from the South. Most of the teams are based in the South. Long time and hard core fans are, you guessed it, from the South.
Nothing against the great city of New York, but it just doesn't make sense to me to have the ceremony there. Why not Atlanta or another city in the South that has hosted NASCAR events for decades?

On a three lane road, I was making a right turn into the closest lane to me. The other driver was making a u-turn. The u-turn was legal. However, he u-turned into the farthest lane possible from his position. We collided, he damaged his front right bumper, and my front door joint was damaged making the door inoperative. Also, he was driving a Nissan Quest and insisted on it being impossible to turn into the closest or middle lane without touching the farthest lane. However, I saw a Nissan Armada turn into the middle lane and another car turning into the closest most lane simultaneously without any problem. So, who is at fault?

first off i am a 34 year old male....smoker...diagnosed last feruary with copd....(have been trying to quit smoking)....last saturday i started having pains in the center of my chest but more toward the left side....it wasnt bad and wouldnt last long....now it has become very constant and in the center and around my left chest muscle (but deeper)....when i bend down i get short of breath and start coughing....when i take deep breaths the pain seems to increase in size and wrap more toward the left.....its not a muscle pulled...and i dont think it is lung relatedearlier in the week i had severe indigestion and was burping alot but that has passed and not present now....i usually have frequent heartburn but even that has passed since early this week.....it is now thursday night and this is getting worse not better........anyone have any ideas, or experienced this before?....thanks
