Everyone seems to focus only on the Yankees and Red Sox. I wouldn't be surprised if there was another team sitting out there watching and waiting, then swooping in with a better deal. Obviously, this would be a team that does not have a child's need for daily attention.

I agree, the Yanks will pull out the deal in the end...they need Santana more than the Sox and they'll pay just about any price to make it happen and keep him fom the Red Sox..

The Twins are in a good position right now because of the interest in Santana. The team that winds up with Santana has to be careful what they are giving in return. It could turn out to be the best deal or the worst deal the team has ever made based on what they have to give up to get him. There is a very fine line between what Santana can do for you and giving up too much of your future to get him.

I personally hate the Yankees and the Red Sox, so I hope none of those teams get him. But, money eventually does talk. Hence why the days where small market teams win World Series is over.

Regardless of where Santana ends up, the real winner will be the Twins. The Twins have a commodity that is very valuable, an ace pitcher. The law of supply and demand will come into play and no matter who gets Johan, the Twins will get what they want for him. They are in the drivers seat and it'll be fun just to see how much they get for him!

the red sox dont have the balls to make the trade for santana and the yankees are the only team with a legit shot

and it seems like the twins actually want to get rid of santana (I have no idea why) so the yanks will probably pull away with santana and have another playoff season

Ok here is what's going to happen. Yanks started the process by approaching the twins about Santana. They try a package oh maybe hughes and someone else. Boom RedSox jump in! They offer Coco Crisp, Jon Lester, Masterson, and Jed Lowrie. Ok thats a bad trade for Twins they get a really bad CF well lets say a ok CF, bad hitter. Good lefty pitcher. Ok SS (Lowrie), Masterson never heard of him and i live in pawtucket RI and i see alot of the Pawtucket Red Sox. So now the Twins GM calls Cashman hey this is what they are offering what can you do. Well now the Yanks are like we cant allow the Sox's to get Santana that cheap. We will give you Hughes and or Kennedy, Melky great arm in CF ok bat, Jose Tabata, Al Horne great prospect hate to see him go. So the Twins Get awsome prospects that are major league ready except Al Horne 2 years away. Were the Sox were only giving up chumps, so the Twins win Sox win because they up the asking price and Yanks feel for it. Im a Yankee fan and i think they are going to give up alot to get him. Dont get me wrong i would to see him in Pinstripes, but I think Hughes is going to be something special. DO YOU THINK IM WRONG let me know Thanks!

For that to happen they'd have to add Joba or Kennedy to an already pretty large group of prospects that they offered up. It's not gonna happen.
