I just bought a new Laptop and it's running Vista. I have Windows Office 2003 on a disk. I copied it to the new laptop. But when I try to open Exel or Word or Powerpoint I get the following message:
'The operating system is not currently configured to run this application'
I have already turned off the User Account Contro (UAC).
Any ideas what to do now??
By the way,I got this MS Office 2003 through 'file sharing'.

10 million kids will die from lack of medical care.
http://www.who.int/child-adolescent-health/New_Publications/CHILD_HEALTH/CS/CS_paper_1.pdf
200 million kids need adoption and will not be adopted.
http://ndas.cwla.org/include/pdf/InterntlAdoption_FINAL_IB.pdf
And there will be less than nine tenths of a million abortions of unwanted fetuses this year.
http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/ss5511a1.htm?s_cid=ss5511a1_e
The problem in the world is not about "choosing Life" it is about who you choose to save. Do you save less than 1 million unwanted fetuses, or do you save 10 million kids. You have said that we should err on the side of "life". To err on the side of life one should err trying to save the most lives, not the least lives. The odds are that each time you try to save a fetus, you cause the death of 12 loved and wanted kids. http://www.prolifeismurder.com
If elected president, will you save the wanted kids or the unwanted fetuses? Please read all web sites first.

Is this valuable advice or is it just non-sense?

whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well spoken of, whatever virtue there is and whatever praiseworthy thing there is, continue considering these things.

Again, answer honesty, strictly spiritual question.

Would you consider this good advice to live by? Explain.
How would you apply this to your daily life?
How does this affect you as a person?
How do you think people who do practice such consideration behave?
What are some of the things we should consider, that you could bring to our attention?

I just recently got a used bike thats been sitting for some time, and I believe that the chain may be the problem-
When I try to back it up or push it forward (in neutral) it does not move easily and takes two people to move it. I think the chain may be the problem, as it is severly rusted, so I cleaned it up a bit, but it still has the same problem. What else could be the problem?

i'm a college girl, 19 years old. i have been seeing my current boyfriend for 9 months now. the deal is, 5 years ago (we were both 14 back then) we also had a relationship. things started to go down hill then after a year and a half and this other girl (sarah) started contacting him a loooot. she was always on AIM with him and stuff like that. at that time i started acting sort of b*tchy to my boyfriend because i was terrified. because i had changed so much, he started liking sarah and ended things with me. he then went out with her for 2.5 years. and a year or so later, i got back together with him.
the problem here: that girl sarah is pretty much a sl*t and is now going around hitting on my best girlfriend's boyfriend. she tells him how my girlfriend and i are silly sl*ts and liars that just don't like her because we think (!!) he stole my guy back then. she also said that my boyfriend was the one coming onto her back then, not the other way around.

My dog,Spitz breed, female ,6 yrs. has not been taking any food for the last 10 days and has gone very weak. After two days of stopping food intake, she was shown to a vet who said that perhaps she has worms in the intestine.Gluco-saline was given by drips.Fifth day she passed yellow stools of bad odour.Drips given again but still no food intake. She refused to even smell her choicest items. On seventh day, we consulted another vet, of great repute. He says she is scared badly and is in a state of shock. We had Diwali festivals in India recently when large amount of fire crackers are burnt. Some produce blasting and exploding sounds of more than 100 decibles. She might have been close to some high sounding cracker. For last 30 hours ,we are holding her in our lap and trying to talk sweetly with her so that she may get assurance that the humans are there to support and she should come out of her fears. All the dog lovers are requested to advice me, what else we can do .

Twelve million Americans are infertile and will pursue years of painful and expensive treatments to have the chance to pass their genes to their own offspring. Human cloning can offer infertile couples a chance at reproduction. Cloning technology may even prevent clinical depression, divorce, and suicide among infertile people. An example of a use for cloning, is if one partner suffered from a disease that was passed on to children by reproduction, an alternative could be to clone the other partner and have the child be a replica of one of his parents. This will allow the parents to have a child that is genetically identical to at least one of them. Cloning technology would not require a viable sperm or egg cell, but any body cell would do. This technology would be able to bypass defective gametes and possibly allow infertile couples to have their own biological children. Cloning technology may be able cure Tay-Sachs disease, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, and Huntingtons disease.

My husband just got into management a couple of months ago. My husband found out that it is customary for each manager to get the other managers a present. No gift cards, baskets, etc. It has to be a real present that each manager would like. There are 5 other managers, 3 men and 2 women. We are a young couple with a baby and Christmas was going to be a stretch this year without adding extra gifts. Any ideas for presents that would be nice, but not too expensive?

Why do you think we have to have a purpose in life? I was answering a question like many others on this forum "what is our purpose in life?" and I happened to glance over at my dog.

Now he's a good dog, and I indeed have a purpose for him: he's our "first alert" alarm system (woe be unto any bird who poops within 2 blocks, they will hear his wrath for minutes), he's a good companion and eater of table scraps. I know from experience that any stranger who comes onto his marked territory is subject to his bared teeth, especially if his girls (my daughters) are nearby.

But HE doesn't have a purpose, he just goes along and is a dog. He does doggy things. Why do we have to know our purpose but animals don't? What sets us apart?
