I tell people I'm a vegetarian, and they immediatly assume I'm judging them. I understand, because when I ate meat, I'd met some condemnation from some of the more "hardcore" vegetarians I'd associated with.

What are some good ways of telling people you are a vegetarian, without implying that you judge them for not being one? I know it's not fair that people assume it, but we must be real about the fact that there is this perception out there that we somehow think of ourselves as morally superior; which is unfortunately true in some (rare I hope) cases, but I certainly do not.

What are some good ways of talking to non-veg's without bringing stereotypes into it?

I was in a relationship which my ex bf controls me.. a long distanced relationship. He wanted me to promise him not to talk or look at any guys, dress decently ( no short skirts, no tight shirts, no sleeves with big holes), & not to swim or play basketball. He said he was worried about me and he didnt want other guys to look at me.He even told me to dress as ugly as possible. He told me to wait for him and he'll be back to marry me.I did all that for him but in between i broke few promises. We quarelled but eventually we got over it. Then, we broke up when I only complained that he has no time for me. The reasons are I don't understand him, his family will never accept me for my character. What did I do wrong? I did all that he said & report whatever I do through sms every minute of my life. I cried for a year and now he has a gf but why did he contact me & still flirts with me? He makes me feel bad about myself when he ignores me or put me down.I still love him. Should I stay or leave?

As we all know, the south in the US is in severe drought conditions. The Governor of Georgia is asking folks to join him and a group of ministers to pray for rain. They are going to hold a public prayer today. An atheist commented that people will look on at this and think that the citizens of Georgia are "dumb," and is gathering protestors to be there during this prayer. No one is saying that science or divine intervention is better, all ideas are welcomed..why the protesting? So....what are your thoughts R&S crew?

You know, the ones who are in debt up to their eyeballs, but STILL insist on going out to eat almost every day of the week and/or buying clothes they don't need.

It makes me just want to slap some sense into them!

I am a 37 year old divorced (for 6 years) mother of a 9 and 10 year old. I live with my b/f of 4 years, simply because it is more financially sensible for me to NOT be married (ex. medicaide for the kids) I work a full time job 7 days a week....here is my issue....it seems EVERY church in my area, either has some type of stipulation about being divorced, living together without being married, or you just flat out CAN'T join the church because of your living/marraige situation...I would LOVE to get my kids back in church...what congregation would "overlook" me as a "sinner" for the choices i have made.????

I want to paint my living/dining room. I have two couches - one is cream and one is chocolate brown. My wood furniture is dark brown. My area rug is a checkerboard of cream/terra cotta/navy/dark brown/denim blue.
I have a large window at one end with cream coloured drapes.
What do you guys think for a paint colour? I am not afraid of using colour and I am not rreally crazy about just using white or beige.

My youth group is running a retreat and I am in charge of coming up with skit ideas. I have everything I need except for bible verses to base the skits off of. i.e a bible verse that says good will prevail over evil. So, if you can think of any bible verses that could be used to base a skit off of, please tell me.

Do most of you only experience it on YA because people are braver when they can be anonymous behind their computer screens? Or do you ever actually have it spoken to your face?

I've been working a tech-support job... it doesn't pay much, but I love it considering the fact that all I do all day is sit around and play on the internet (except occasionally I have a tech-support call or someone brings a computer in)... I have worked some tough jobs and boring jobs: like Warehouse, inbound Call center... now I am needing more money, but I find the prospect of having to go do a REAL job sort of depressing...

I'm a philosophy major, and I hope to teach... after I finish my PHD (which is a long way aways since I'm my 3'rd year into my Bachelor's)... but in the mean time... how do I get over the prospect of having to go do a depressing job at an insurance company or something?

I used to be hard working... I fear that I lost my work ethic...

If you don't believe in God, that is fine I respect your right not too and the right to voice why not. But in return do you respect others beliefs or would you go against our founding fathers and abolish anything you do not agree with? And why or why not?

Serious answers get a thumbs up if I agree with you or not, others thumbs down

You would probably be sharing a room with someone else, and would only have space for a few things besides your clothes. Knowing you would never be going home again, what would you not like to lose
