I admire christians and I kind of consider myself on the loop. I think christianity is good for moral values and spreading about GOD.

I am not understanding maybe, yet for the ten commandments why do people pick and choose what is what. Like thou shalt not lie, thou shalt not cheat thou shalt not steal. these ARE apart of the ten commandments. Why do people continue with disobeying it? Yet these same people are against lesbians and gays which is a hypocracy in itself don't you think? i'm not gay but I wonder what you think.

Just wondering. not trying to fight i want a decent argument please no GOD made adam and eve not adam and steve, GOD also made other animals that are nothing like us. We can not procreate with them maybe we can i dont want to know but the point is.Things evolve don't they. just as man.

Does it exist? Either spiritually or in the everyday world? Does truth exist only in context? If someone believes something that can not be proven or proven to be false isn't it true for them?
Answer the question as it is written please. Atheist P.O.V. appreciated as is all others.

Beside differences on the major issues of today
This punch line sums it up

Al Gore, Bill and Hillary Clinton all die on the same day, and head for judgment. God addresses Al first. "Al, what do you believe in?"
Al replies: "Well, I believe that I won that election, but that it was Your will that I did not serve. And I've come to understand that now." God thinks for a second and says: "Very good. Come and sit at my left."

God then addresses Bill. "Bill, what do you believe in?"
Bill replies: "I believe in forgiveness. I've sinned but I've never held a grudge against my fellow man, and I hope no grudges are held against me." God thinks for a second and says: "You are forgiven, my son. Come and Sit at my right."

Then God addresses Hillary. "Hillary, what do you believe in?"
She replies: "I believe you're in my chair."

I feel real sorry for this kid, every time it's the hols she appears in our square (car park of block of flats) on her bike, alone, no friends or family I can see.

She speaks to the caretaker and I said hi to her yesterday (she's about 12, overweight, and quite obviously unhappy).

Poor little mite is (I think) dumped by busy parents on to granparents.

It's so sad.

Is there anything I could do, I'm a guy (married, no kids) to put a little sun into her life?

(Please read, I really am going somewhere with this.)

If so, which Elvis did you prefer? Did you like young, skinny, sexy, hip-swaying Elvis, or did you prefer older, bloated, drugged up Elvis who died on a toilet?

My guess would be that, for most, they would prefer the former, regardless of their belief. Why? Because it's prettier, and much better to remember and embrace. That said, the older, bloated Elvis, while sad and ugly, is still a part of the Elvis story.

This is how many atheists, myself included, feel that Christians should view not only the Bible, but Christian history. You cannot choose to only embrace the parts that make you feel good, you must at least acknowledge the horrors within the Scriptures, as well as the atrocities committed by Christians in the name of God over the years.

I will be very curious to see who, among the believers, will see my point here.

Not only the pull thingy but some of the teeth are missing too, so I have to replace the entire zipper. Is it a big deal to do? Would a dry cleaner or someplace like that do it? Any suggestions would help greatly.

Bushra Noah, a devout Muslim, was turned down for a job by the Wedge salon in Kings Cross. She is suing the salon for religious discrimination. Salon owner Sarah Desrosiers says she turned down the woman to maintain the image of her salon. She is now being sued for 15,000 pounds. Ms Desrosiers says that her stylists are required to show their own hairstyles to maintain the 'urban funky' image. It transpires that Miss Noah, who says she has always wanted to be a hairdresser, has now been rejected 25 times. Does this fact tell you something? Or is she right to sue over the grounds she is using? Miss Desrosiers did ask her if she was willing to work without the headscarf and she refused, saying it was part of her religion. Do you think she would have got the job if she had agreed to remove it whilst working?
