After I have narrowed my picks down to a few, I sometimes look at the thumbs up just to see if one answer has a significant amount more than any others. That may or may not affect my choice, but I do consider it some.

Umm..Well if it has lots of thumbs down, I try to see the answer from a different perspective, but I usually choose best answer regardless of the number of thumbs up and thumbs down, but based on my personal satisfaction of the thorough information given.

Only sometimes if I see a person with 5 or more thumbs up I like to give them best so they can get all the points but I really try to be fair and spread them around.

The only time I take that into consideration is when all answers are equally good or equally bad and I honestly can't decide. If there is a tie between two answers, if one of them is on my contact list, I'll choose them.

No, it doesn't affect me. I just choose based on the content of the answer and how it relates to me.
