This sounds crazy and you won't believe me but - crackers and coca cola. They used to have that in Brasil with the logic that the acid kills the bug and drink refreshes you (Brasil was quite hot). Not sure about the crackers bit.

Make a chicken rice homemade soup - Greeks swear by this
Boil a chicken leg in water (I add a bit of stock cube) add a bit of rice .... simmer till chicken falls off bone (you can remove the chicken if you feel he's not ready)

boiled egg and soilders as others have mentioned or chicken soup with bread to dip in it, classic feeling poorly food!

anything white, bread, bananas, oatmeal, saltines, no juice or milk. Clear drinks like coke, sprite. slowly introduce soup nothing to greasy. jello is always good.

the brat diet...bananas rice applesauce and toast..maybe even soup..or broth depends on what kind of sickness they were getting over..jello is good too
