look for a taylor or seamstress. not a real big job....that is why the make zippers as replacements. should run 10 to 12 dollars or so. after this is done, rub clear wax or you could go with the color of the zipper. the wax will lubricate the zipper and make it zip smother and last longer because it should not pull.

Some dry cleaners have the facility to perform repairs and replace zippers, but you may be better off looking for a dressmaker or tailor to replace the zipper as it is not an easy job for a novice.

That is a two-way movable open end zipper which usually use on long coats or jackets ! As you know, most of the zipper sliders use on jackets or coats are in automatic lock function. The reason for the zipper stuck because the automatic lock function of the zipper slider has already damaged ! The "pin" in the automatic lock slider box has stuck to the zipper elements/teeth causing the slider stuck! You have even broke the slider tab-pull and now, it is useless to insert a string to the slider body as a tab-pull because the automatic lock function of the slider has totally damaged! Now, You need to bring your coat to the laundry to see if they have a same type (same brand and size) of slider to be replaced. If not, you need to send to the tailor to replace a new zipper!

Dry cleaners would definately do this work. If you know how to use a sewing machine, I'm sure you could do it yourself if you can sew a straight line and measure and make sure both ends of zipper are at the correct spot.

i,ve had that happen.
shop maround at different dry cleaners.
take into consideration the cost of the coat versus the cost
of repair.
i paid about 3o dollars for a zipper repair on a leather
jacket, it was worth the price of repair and most wanted
a higher price, so shop around. good luck.

You could dry your dry cleaners or there are local sewing places that take up trousers and repair rips and that sort of thing. It shouldn't be too expensive or too difficult as they do it all the time.
