We've all seen those impressive calculations by Fred Hoyle and heard Emile Borel's infinite monkeys argument. I was wondering just how valid those arguments were.

Based on what I've read, there are several problems with them, and I was wondering if any Creationists could explain why, in light of those problems, the arguments are still sound.

Here's the list of problems:

1) They calculate the probability of the formation of a "modern" protein, or even a complete bacterium with all "modern" proteins, by random events. This is not the abiogenesis theory at all.

2) They assume that there is a fixed number of proteins, with fixed sequences for each protein, that are required for life.

3) They calculate the probability of sequential trials, rather than simultaneous trials.

4) They misunderstand what is meant by a probability calculation.

5) They seriously underestimate the number of functional enzymes/ribozymes present in a group of random sequences.

Too many candidates for the Presidential election, at this point, for a Yahoo poll. Can't trust most media polls.

As of right now how are you going to Vote: Republican, Democrat, Other, or Not Vote.

I'm installing laminate and have noticed that the doors (4 doors) have a metal frame. I've read everywhere that I should cut the bottom of the door frame (to lay the laminate underneath) with a undercut saw but how do I cut the bottom of the metal door frame?

I've thought about using a metal cutting blade attached to a drill but I'm afraid of causing a fire!

NOTE: two of the doors have several angles in the metal frame that stick out about 1-1.5 inch.
I was told that a fein multimaster may do this cut.

Thank you so much for your help.

At dawn the telephone rings:
'Hello, Senor Rod? This is Ernesto the caretaker at your country house.'
'Ah yes, Ernesto. What can I do for you? Is there a problem?'
'Um, I am just calling to advise you, Senor Rod, that your dog died.
'My dog? Dead? The one that won the International competition?'
'Si, Senor, that's the one.'
'Damn! That's a pity! I spent a small fortune on that dog. What did he die from?'
'From eating rotten meat, Senor Rod'
'Rotten meat? Who the hell fed him rotten meat?'
'Nobody, Senor. He ate the meat of the dead horse.'
'Dead horse? What dead horse?'
'The thoroughbred, Senor Rod.'
'My prize thoroughbred is dead?'
'Yes Senor Rod, he died from all that work pulling the water cart.'
'Are you insane? What water cart?'
'The one we used to put out the fire, Senor'
'Good Lord! What fire are you talking about, man?'
'The one at your house, Senor! A candle fell and the curtains caught on fire'
'What the hell??.... Are you saying that my mansion is destroyed because of a candle??!!!
'Yes Senor Rod.'
'But there's electricity at the house!!!
'What was the candle for?'
'For the funeral, Senor Rod.'
'WHAT BLOODY FUNERAL?!'
'Your wife's, Senor Rod... She showed up one night out of the blue and I thought she was a thief, so I hit her with your new Tiger Woods Nike Driver.'
SILENCE........ LONG SILENCE...............

'Ernesto, if you broke that driver, you're in deep ****!

I have been writing in my hedge fund blog called the Richard Wilson Hedge Fund Blog for several months now. I have about 75 people/day coming to read my articles but I'm not sure who they are.

My question is, does the general public have an interest in learning more about hedge funds even if they will never want to or be qualified to invest in them? I'm trying to figure where most of my web traffic will be coming from in the future. It might be that I never get a HUGE following on my hedge fund blog simply because most people invest in stocks and mutual funds.

If you want to see who I am or what my hedge fund blog looks like first they are online at

http://www.richardcwilson.com

and

http://richard-wilson.blogspot.com

Thanks in advance for your input.
