Think you may become rather disillusioned here Bradsky. I was a fan of Black Hawk Down and popped on occasionally to do some online competition. I managed to get the rank of PFC and a medal based on one game but that was at 1:00AM in the mroning, there were only 3 other players in the city with me and they were like shooting fish in a barrel because i think they were 7 year olds that had no concept of the game.
After that it became bad. Snipers would stake out spawn points and the moment you spawned in you were smoked. I got tired of people cheating to boost their points and stopped with the multi-play altogether.
Maybe Punkbuster helps since that wasn't available when I was playing so you may be pleased with the results. Good luck and keep low.
