Why do some say this? Why, if a Muslim woman is home caring for her children and home, is it automatically assumed she's on welfare? I'm a stay at home mom. I'm a Muslim woman. And my family is not on welfare nor are we anywhere poor in any way, shape, or form. I can get anything I want at anytime, literally. And for most Muslim women, this is the same story. If we have a baby, our husbands buy us 22kt gold jewelry sets and spoil the mess out of us! If we have an accomplishment we get that and taken out to dinner. Muslim men are seen in such a bad light. The media and some examples on the news make it look like all Muslim men are this way. They're not. The RELIGION of Islam says this is how a man is supposed to treat women.
And for that verse that says "beat" in english, in arabic it means to leave the area as that word does the other 5 times it's used in the Quran in Arabic. The english translation is not reliable. The Prophet (saaws) never hit a woman.
