Why do some say this? Why, if a Muslim woman is home caring for her children and home, is it automatically assumed she's on welfare? I'm a stay at home mom. I'm a Muslim woman. And my family is not on welfare nor are we anywhere poor in any way, shape, or form. I can get anything I want at anytime, literally. And for most Muslim women, this is the same story. If we have a baby, our husbands buy us 22kt gold jewelry sets and spoil the mess out of us! If we have an accomplishment we get that and taken out to dinner. Muslim men are seen in such a bad light. The media and some examples on the news make it look like all Muslim men are this way. They're not. The RELIGION of Islam says this is how a man is supposed to treat women.
And for that verse that says "beat" in english, in arabic it means to leave the area as that word does the other 5 times it's used in the Quran in Arabic. The english translation is not reliable. The Prophet (saaws) never hit a woman.

He never teated women even close to as badly as some of these animals of today calling themselves Muslim men are. The Prophet (saaws) would have these men divorced from these women and lashed for their harmful ways. Since they were oppressive, they may even have been killed for treating their wives like less than human. And before you say it's barbaric, think of the emotaional and psychological scarring not to mention the bodily scarring and possibly damage done in the southern reasons from the abuse.
If the Prophet (saaws) knew a man was abusive, he'd tell whatever woman was considering marrying that male and advise her to marry some other. He tried to protect the women from the abusive and oppressive animals.
So why do you say it's all Muslim men who treat women badly and all Muslim women who are treated badly?
