Instead of prevention and recovery from disasters (witness Katrina and the aftermath) being a responsibility of the government, the Bush administration has privatized the work to private business whom will be making a PROFIT from damage and recovery.
Is this FAIR? Is this situation CORRECT? Wouldn't businesses (corruption always a temptation) be prone to delay improvements which would prevent disasters from occurring, or minimize their costs when it comes to recovering from disasters - thereby delaying recovery?

We have financial problems, and I am doing everything I can to make more money...yet she makes mistakes with our checking account which end up using up my whole check with overdraft fees. It's like I'm working for free. But if I don't make more money, she'll take our little girl away from me and leave.

We've been married 8 years, and I love her, but for her to say that....isn't that kinda shallow? If the shoe were on the other foot, I would never threaten to leave her over how much money she made.

Well we just faced a tough loss yesterday but How do you see the Vikings ending the year, I think we will be alright I mean we had 6 turnovers and still almost won the game, I really beleive we have maybe the best Defense in the NFL, most teams that throw for 160 yards and 4 picks usually get destroyed but we had a chance at a game winning field goal and hit the upright

My husband and I are on the verge of divorce. We have been married a year and a half and have 2 children.I love my husband dearly, but cant find my way anymore. We have had sexual problems in our marriage for about 9 months. He stopped wanting it.It hurt and finally I figured he was cheating. Im not sure that he wasnt and still isnt but I did find out why.I had gotten pregnant again a while back and miscarried.I gained some weight and he said that while he thought I was beautiful he wasnt attracted to me.He has always been very visual and made me feel bad about myself.I have tried our whole marriage to be what he wants, short hair, clothes etc... its not enough. He always wants more.Right now hes upset about where his life is headed. He said hes bored with the family life and with me and the kids. My kids love him and my 3 year old son and 1 yr old daughter will be devestated. He says he wants to work on it but wont try for more than a few days. What now? I am a SAHM w/ no work history.

Look at Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot. They were all staunch atheists and they were responsible for some of the worst atrocities in history.

Look at China and the Soviet Union. Look how good those godless countries turned out.

You need religion in a society.

Agree?

I need help with these two problems, please.

Find all points having an x-coordinate of -21 whose distance from the point (-5, -14) is 34.

A hot air balloon is headed due east at an average speed of 6mph at a constant altitude of 190 feet as it crosses an intersection. Find an expression for the distance in d (in feet) from the balloon to the intersection "t" seconds later.

Thank you so much!!

Someone asked me this question today and I could not remember the grade school answer for this! She was specifically talking about a point where one river flows into another flowing the opposite direction, I don't know if that would make the name different.

Is it true you can tell that an "Alternative Therapy" is complete hokum, by listening to see it it has to be explained by the word "energy"?

My boyfriend has severe dyslexia. Supposedly. He went to shitty schools in New Jersey that I suspect didn't really try to help him too much so I'm not sure if he actually has really bad dyslexia or if it's managable but his schooling didn't help him find a way to deal with it. Either way, his reading is really, really bad. Practically non-existent. I want to help him somehow. It's so weird seeing him struggle on a daily basis because he can't read or write. It's like missing a sense, not being able to see or hear. I just have no idea where to start! I got him a couple of those reading workbooks for 1st graders and I bought some index cards so we can make customized flashcards for words he needs to be able to read such as local streetnames, ATM vocabulary, etc.

Jobs? Directions? Reading a bedtime story to our children someday? This is serious.

Does this influence his "report?"
*************************************
"Petraeus expressed interest in presidency"

Sep. 13- The US commander in Iraq, General David Petraeus, expressed long-term interest in running for the US presidency when he was stationed in Baghdad, according to a senior Iraqi official who knew him at that time.

Sabah Khadim, then a senior adviser at Iraq's Interior Ministry, says General Petraeus discussed with him his ambition when the general was head of training and recruitment of the Iraqi army in 2004-05.

"I asked him if he was planning to run in 2008 and he said, 'No, that would be too soon'," Khadim, who now lives in London, said.

General Petraeus has a reputation in the US Army for being a man of great ambition. But General Petraeus's open interest in the presidency may lead critics to suggest that his own political ambitions have influenced him in putting an optimistic gloss on the US military position in Iraq

Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, WHOEVER BELIEVES IN GOD AND THE LAST DAY AND DOES GOOD, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve."{Holy Quran 2:62}

Does this mean I do not have to become a Muslim because I do believe in God, I do good deeds and the people I know think I'm a good person. I believe in The Last Days and Judgment from God.

I seriously would like to know if this is true!

Thank you.

Better for the Politicians that way, then they can get on with the job of ruining peoples spirits. So lucky the people of Britain whilst they work hard for the incoming bills, they have enough spare time left over to watch Coronation street and moan about the immigrants robbing the Crown jewels.

For those who think Politics is boring The headlining acts are Labour and Conservative, both dedicated followers of fashion.
