Not entirely. The Libertarian party represents me. And I am a registered Libertarian. But the Libertarians have little chance of winning national or even statewide elections. This leaves me with two parties, both of which carve out distinct areas of individual rights to be protected, even though this is really a falsehood - either you're free or you're not. But we have to operate within that falsehood and choose between the liberty of a few special groups to do what they want (e.g., homosexuals) and the liberty of almost all of us to keep more of our money, to not support people we've never met, etc... And since I'm not homosexual and I made a decent salary and do well with my investments (most recently TKC and FMD, and right now I like BPL but I'm waiting to see what the Fed does), I vote Republican.
But the biggest problem with both parties is the spending. It's out of control and completely avoidable.

'As' an average American, I don't feel that any political party represents me or any other average person in this country. The only one thing they represent is their own greed. They were originally (except for the Prez) 'elected' because of campaign promises that not any politician has ever followed up on. And the Prez, don't even get me started on that moron.

I feel that the Democrats represent me far better than the current crop of Republicans but the Democrats are trying to be too centrist. I understand the political necessity of maintaining a wider appeal for the sake of winning elections but personally I would want them to be more actively progressive and outspoken.
No party that has a chance of winning national elections is going to please every group of individuals but if we had more very strong parties we might see more ideas represented at the national level.

Not in today's day and age, NO. I've been a Republican for many years and have never been more dismayed at my party. The reckless fiscal irresponsibility that they've gone along with, has me pulling my hair out. Also the fact that so many (and I include both sides), have sold out to special interest groups and big business at the expense of their own constituents.
There is a major uprising of discontent on both sides of the fence, and it's easy to see and understand why.

No! Both parties make too many concessions to their extremist bases for either of them to represent the average person, like me.
Both parties also represent the money and not the people.

Not really, I do seem to fit somewhere in the middle of the current agendas with a slight lean to the left. And at the moment, I feel that most politicians are self-serving folks who just want to get elected.

Not really . . . but I do think that when powers are equally balanced between parties a more moderate form of government takes place . . . this is when I feel most represented by my elected officials.

Neither truly fits me. It would be great to see a third party.
And to a poster above, it's not a pipe dream. It'll take years to come but it's not impossible.
