Now where does it say 0 volts. If you're saying it get's 0 volts across the terminals at the fuel pump, it means you've got a break in your circuit to the fuel pump,
1. First thing is you probably need to test the fuel pump's circuit when you've got the key in the Accessory's position. If you don't have the key's in the ignition, typically you should get 0 volts across the fuel pump.
2. If you tested the fuel pump with the key in the Accessory's position, then check the fuse to the fuel pump.

Sounds like you have either a clogged fuel filter or a faulty fuel pump. The voltage meter has nothing to do with the car having died. Your car's instrument panel lights up and the VM shows 0 until the car is running. Another possibility would be the in-line ignition fuse located behind a panel directly left of the steering column. This would be the first thing you should check.

Your voltage metre will show 0 until the car starts. It doesnt tell you the condition of the battery but the rate of charge going into the battery and until the engine runs and the alternator turns there will be no charge going into the battery. The temp gague seems to have an open circuit possibly in the sender unit and you didnt by any chance fill up with diesel instead of petrol did you

Try getting the battery charged. There just may be enough juice left in it to supply the minor things but not enough for the engine to turn over.
Also, since you let the car run out of gas sucking up all types of debris from the bottom of gas tank, it's probably a good idea to change the filter.

It sounds like the gasoline pump stop. you should ascertain for spark outputs and gasoline rigidity. Chase the only that's no longer working via checking the circuits to the undertaking area. often in situations like this, the gasoline pump overheated because it sits interior the gas which retains it cool. working it low such as you probably did humped it. whilst the chilly gas hit the warmth pump, it opens and it won't artwork anymore.

YOU SHOULD GET THE VEHICLES COMPUTER SCANNED AND CHECK FOR ANY PROBLEMS AS WELL AS CODES AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD IDEA ON WHAT THE PROBLEM TRULY IS.

TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR A CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE FINDINGS AND THE SERVICE.

LEAVE IT THERE WITH THEM SO THAT THEY CAN FIND THE PROBLEM FOR YOU, IT WILL BE A LOT BETTER THAN JUST REPLACING PART AFTER PART AND NOT DOING ANY GOOD.
