I'm starting up XC soon, so I've been jogging and running around my neighborhood just to start to get my muscles ready for my high school XC team's practice. I tend to get shin splints easily, and they hurt so bad! Is it because of my shoes? My toes are getting blood blisters from them (they're not too tight either)... so I'm not sure if that's what it is. Is there any advice you have for new XC runners and treating shin splints? Do you know why I would be getting them so frequently? (BTW I tend to pronate my feet when I walk/run) any help is appreciated.

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky
starting August.

It will look as large as the full moon to the naked

within 34.65M miles of earth. Be sure to watch the sky
on Aug. 27 12:30 am . It will look like the earth has
2 moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in

OK, I watched a show on The History Channel the other evening and it talked about the end of the world. It stated that several anciet prophets like Nostra Domas and ancient calendars from the Mayans and Chinease all predict the end of the world in the year 2012. More specifically, December 21, 2012.

The thing that made me really wonder was that in the year 2012, the earth and sun will be aligned with the exact center of the milky way. The show stated that as the earth passes into a different magnetic field, the poles will shift, in a matter of weeks or even hours. This would cause worldwide earthquakes and tsunamis, eradicating life as we know it.

Is this possible, or even true? Or is the History Channel passing specualtion off as truth?

Example being in the 1980's there wasn't one dominant force in the OS industry, like it is now with Microsoft. My main question is will it ever go back to being where a company like Microsoft does not own 89% of the OS Market? More of the percentage of 25% maybe while another handful of companies own at least 10% if not more.

Last summer, we bought some barbeque sauce for camping. When we returned, there was still some sauice in the container, so we put it in the refridgerator. When i took the bottle out of the fridge to prepare for this year's camping trip, I found that the expiration date was July 1,2007.

Should I throw it out? Or is it still ok since it has been in the refridgerator all this time?

i have a friend who is a foster mother to both eight month and three month old babies..there's apparent favoritism in which case she treats the eight month old significantly different from the 3 month old. (i guess the older one looks like her ex boyfriend and so on..) she constantly leaves her foster babies with her 15 year old daughter who has obvious freedom issues. she also drops off the three month old baby with unauthorized adults. i've come to love these children with all of my heart and realize that this isn't the foster mother for either of them. my sister works for the state and would love to have these children as her own. How would i go about having these children taken?
