Last summer, we bought some barbeque sauce for camping. When we returned, there was still some sauice in the container, so we put it in the refridgerator. When i took the bottle out of the fridge to prepare for this year's camping trip, I found that the expiration date was July 1,2007.

Should I throw it out? Or is it still ok since it has been in the refridgerator all this time?

Throw it away. Generally products are only good for a week to a month "after" you open them. In other words, once you have opened products, the official expiration date is meaningless.

When in doubt I usually ask my husband "Would your Mom use this?" or I just call her, and if the answer is yes we are good to go!
When he was growing up his Mom never wasted anything unless absolutely necessary and he never got sick so I trust her judgment.
With that in mind I'd say your barbeque sauce sounds fine.

Yeah, throw it out and buy some more--that keeps the economy going. But, if you pinch pennies a bit, if there is no mold and not off taste, it's as good as gold.
