I have been to NYC several times and know about avoiding musicians selling CDs etc. However, I will be in NYC this September and will be taking pictures and doing light filming of some New York landmarks and areas for a creative project. My main worry is that I will be seen with my camera and will be taken for a foolish tourist. Does anybody have any advice to avoid or even minimize this?

Thank you in advance.

I'm 21 and I'm currently a D cup. I've been thinking about getting a breast reduction but after consulting with a plastic surgeon I'm going to wait.
The problem is I get a lot of unwanted attention, I have trouble finding clothes that are just my size, I should be wearing 4 and 6's but I have to buy 8s. Plus they make me look big, big as in fat.
What clothes can I wear to make them look smaller? I have black hair so I can't wear black tops.

Im from Toronto, Canada. I bought a car (Saturn 99) Last week from a Mechanic, after seeing this Add on a local newspaper. To be Honest, I do not know much about cars, and the most that I can judge by is by the way it looks and drive of course. When I saw the car, it looked spotless from outside, under the hood & very clean from inside. The car didn't had any plates so I couldn't really take a test drive, but the seller was very convening and seemed promising that if anything goes wrong with it, he'll be there. I bought the car next day for $3,500, and when drove it back home, the D gear wasn't even working and when i drove on 3rd Gear the car would go over 70-80 Km. I called up the guy & his Tone was entirely changed. He was completely ignoring me. I took the car to Saturn dealership & had it checked, they sd car has major problems and probably the engine is needs to be replaced. I took the car back to him and he was extremely Rude, arguing with me and yelling at me just to keep me down. I want to take LEGAL ACTION against him im not sure how can i do that. If anyone can PLEASE PLEASE help me with this....i can't even sleep in the nights thinking about it.

I keep up with the show by reading updates of the 23/7 feeds. What is the purpose of the various lockdowns? I understand they keep them in the house when banners fly overhead but what is the point for all of the other ones?

routine infield pop-up? I say YES, and I hope teams continue to beam him. I'm a lifelong Mariner fan, so I harbor deep resentment towards this traitor. He said all along during the 2000 season with the M's that it wasn't going to be about $, he wanted to go to the team with the most potential, blah blah blah, he spun it every which way but loose, the consumant politician he is, and what did he do, 10 years TX Tom Hicks, 252 million. Do I blame him, No. But you should've heard the crap he was saying to the Seattle media during the 2000 season. He said a billion times it wasn't going to be about the money. He shouldn't have said that. I hate this guy. He is a prissy loser, he gets manicures and pedicures, he has his haircut once a week. No one in baseball likes him. He's the Kobe Bryant of MLB, no friends. Jeter hates his guts.

My older sister is throwing me a baby shower with like 100 people. She told me that she invited my maternal grandmother, who wouldnt know me if she walked into me on the street, my mother chose to uninvolve herself and her own family with her parents about 30 years ago because she was abused a child by her father, not sexually, just physically and mentally, my grandmother chose him over her own children. My mother is going to be hurt and furious when she finds this out, but my older sister thinks she is being a peacemaker and wants my grandmother to know her children. I agree with my mom and think that if she couldnt involve herself in my life as a child then why should i involve my child with her? Am I being unreasonable, I just feel bad for my mom??

HI,

I just bought a new puppy.she is a pit bull and is 6 weeks old.I know this is young ,but i am such a sucker for abused animals.I think the guys i bought it from, fights his dogs because one of the adult dogs had a big scar on the side of his cheek and there were flies all over it.But thats a whole different story.Well i've just had her since yesterday and she was infested in fleas ,i went and bought some frontline. She seems to be losing most of the fleas.but one thing that concerns me is that she draggs her but on the ground and she cant seem to get comfortable anywhere she sits.IM thinking this is worms.Well i just called the vets office and they told me he wasnt there and wont be back until monday. Will she be okay to wait this long before she goes to the vet or should i go and buy some otc de-wormer from wal-mart or something? I havnt seen anything in her poop either. It looks pretty normal to me.Are OTC de-wormers safe for puppies ?oh and also i live in a small town

two claims? I was rear-ended & I filed against the other person's insurance (that person unfortunetly didn't survive & along with my neck/back pain the doctor said I am going through post-dramatic stress syndrome) My car was totaled & I got a rental car today, got it for 70 days. I was told by a friend that I can have two seperate claims, he said not to settle on the medical part yet but I could settle to get what the car is worth so that I can pay the loan off. I don't know if this is true & the insurance company is so hard to get a hold of so if anyone knows this answer please let me know. I don't want to get the bad end of the deal. Thanks.

Okay well my most recent boyfriend keeps in touch with his ex gf's a lot. He's open to me about it, and we've talked about it and he says the only reason he still talks to them is that he still cares for them like a friend. His first gf for example was his first love and he contacts her occasionaly just to say hi or whatnot. I don't keep in contact with my ex bf's because they are called "ex" for a reason. So I have a hard time understanding. Should I be worried or not? What's your opinion on this..? Why would you want to keep in touch with your ex..isn't it over?

Basically, the short version of the story is that my husband is incredible and loving...when he's not having a tantrum. But when he gets stressed, and gets so angry he has been known to break things, yell, rage, and be verbally abusive. This has been going on in a cycle for a few years...but I never thought it was that bad because all the other times besides when he was angry he was great. When he's calm he tells me he knows he has a problem with anger. A week ago he had another rage and I lost it. I packed my things, and headed for my mothers. We have agreed to stay apart for 6 months, get individual therapy and see what happens. He's moving into a friends and I'm going back to our place when he's finally moved out. We have only spoken to talk about bills we owe, etc. Sometimes he calls when he's really sad and I feel terrible. I took the animals with me which he loves and he says he misses them so much. He keeps using my nicknames. I feel horrible about the whole thing. Am I wrong?

Seventy-seven years ago, members of Congress erected a tariff wall aimed at protecting American business concerns. The result was a stock market crash followed by drastic retaliatory tariffs and a shutdown of the global trading system. The 1932 Revenue Act made matters worse by massively raising marginal tax rates on domestic incomes. These blunders set the stage for the Depression and world war that followed.

Current members of Congress appear to have let their history books collect dust: A raft of anti-China currency and tariff legislation is now widely supported by both political parties as the exigencies of political grandstanding subvert the ideals of sound policy. At the same time, Chinese government officials have threatened to dump some of the government’s $1 trillion in U.S. Treasury securities if Congress continues its currency bashing and tariff threats.

This fiscal folly couldn’t come at a worse time. Financial markets have been reeling over the last several weeks as hedge funds deleverage from wrong-way bets on mortgage products. It certainly doesn’t help matters that a tone-deaf Congress, led by a bi-partisan coalition of the economically obtuse, is attempting to advance legislation that would raise tax rates on investment companies as part of a “fix” for the alternative minimum tax (AMT).

Has anyone in Congress ever stopped to contemplate why London has once again become the financial capital of the world? Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the rest of the world is lowering corporate tax rates and trying to moderate regulations while the U.S. is stuffing Sarbanes-Oxley down the throat of its businesses.

If that weren’t bad enough, the 2001-03 tax cuts on incomes and capital are essentially on the chopping block, set to expire in several years time unless Congress and the president act to extend them. The current Congress isn’t disposed to extending the tax cuts, while online futures trading points to a Democrat sweep in 2008. In other words, there’s a high probability that tax rates are going up.

Some politicians argue that the current anti-trade sentiment has been driven by wage inequality and poor income growth, “tax cuts for the rich,” and high energy and food prices for the poor. But the data refute this. Personal income has grown at an average pace of 6.2 percent since 2004, despite large swings in reported GDP growth; personal income is up 6.1 percent year-over-year as of June, right in line with the average of the last few years. And thanks to a low unemployment rate and a tight labor market, real non-supervisory wages are growing faster today than they were at this stage of the last cycle (1.6 percent vs. 1.3 percent, year-over-year).

In fact, low-end (non-supervisory) real wages have grown at about twice the pace for this cycle compared to the first 23 quarters of the last expansion. A broader measure of real non-financial compensation per hour also shows superior wage growth during this cycle (1 percent per annum average vs. a 0.3 percent per annum average at this stage of the last cycle). So to call this a “wage-less” expansion is utter nonsense, despite the fact real GDP growth has averaged 2.7 percent per annum this cycle versus a superior 3.3 percent average at this stage of the last cycle.

Attention protectionist stooges: Since the implementation of NAFTA in 1994, real non-supervisory wages have grown at an average pace of 1.2 percent per annum, triple the 1971-2007 average of 0.4 percent per annum. Inflation-adjusted household net worth has jumped $22.2 trillion since NAFTA was implemented while non-farm payrolls have increased by 24.9 million. Manufacturing output, far from falling, actually stands at a record high, and is up 62 percent since 1994.

Undoubtedly some have been left behind by the global economy. But free trade, China, and Wal-Mart for that matter have dramatically increased the standard of living for most people, just as protectionism, a trade war, tax hikes on investment and work, and the absence of Wal-Mart would sink living standards for most people.

While the global boom continues on the back of pro-growth policies around the world, Congress is speeding down the road to ruin with trade protectionism and a raft of untimely tax hikes. It’s time to take a detour and think about the hugely anti-growth consequences of turning our backs on the global economy and pro-growth tax policy.
