It is tacky...and glamorous. It's weird and strangely beautiful. Las Vegas is it's own little world.

I would say Pamela Anderson is TACKY
Maybe parts of Las Vegas are tacky, like all cities.
But it is also very glamorous, I love it

Some parts of Vegas are glamourous - like the fine restaurants, the spas, some of the hotels (Venetian, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay) and the shows. There are some huge glaring tacky parts too - the exterior of the Excalibur, people photographing advertisements in the airport as soon as they get off the plane (why, why, why?), Elvis impersonators and drive through wedding chapels. I feel that the tackiness of the whole thing is part of the fun and Vegas is all about fun.

The Strip isn't in Las Vegas. Never has been. Never will be. It's in Winchester and Paradise, Nevada. So Pamela can't read a map too well. The "Glitter Gulch" area of Fremont Street is in Las Vegas. That is tacky!

Glamorous is looking good on the outside which Las Vegas does. Tacky is how you see it. Maybe you are both right.

HEY! i live in las vegas. and it can be tacky and glamorous, it just depends on how you look at it or where you go. for example, you might think Las Vegas is tacky if you stay at a tacky hotel. but if you stayed at the Wynn, then you might think its GLAMOROUS!

Definition of Tacky: gaudy, gimcrack, tawdry, trashy, brassy, cheap, loud, meretricious, tatty, tasteless.
You consider places like Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Venetian, Mirage, Mandalay Bay and the Wynn "tacky" or in essence; tasteless, cheap, trashy, tatty, gaudy etc.
The strip in las vegas is the exact opposite of tacky imo. $3 billion dollar hotels, 1000sq foot bedrooms with plasma tv screens in the bathrooms, some of the worlds best restaurants and shopping.

My dad said the same thing! Yes, during the day, it IS tacky. But at night is completely different - and fabulous!
