how many people have you heard of, in the media or anywhere else for that matter, who have caused accidents to people or even death to people by drink driving. do you think a ban on alcohol should be brought in as a result of this.the government have brought in a ban affecting smokers because many people believe smoking is bad for you and all around you, well i ask if a man smokes 10 cigarettes and then drives his car will he carreer all over the road endangering peoples lives or will the man who has drank 10 pints then starts driving cause more danger to the public, i think what you will find is that the drinker will cause more problems than the smoker .please give me your views .

did you know many big institions are conning you by charging 10 or 15p a minute to ring them. Effectively charging you for the employee. The answer is to find another number, for example Legal and General have 0870 050 0955, however, ring 08000277169 and you save about a £1.00 a call. The system is deliberate and keeps you holding on whilst telling you lots of garbage, and then MAY have no assistant free so you could get told to call again, there, thats 20 or 30p to them.
The answer, REFUSE to call any 0845, 087 type numbers, send them a letter, its cheaper, they then respond in writing. If not then look at your options. Current organisations doing this include:- local police, councils, insurance companies, hospitals, patient phones, to name a few.
Many have alternative numbers, use the fax number less say 1 or ten but whatever you do complain, and do not use the number.

He says he wants to marry me...we have been together for 8 yrs!!!!! We just planned to elope (very easy for a man might I add) for next November. When it came down to signing the marriage license application to mail back to the woman who is handling our ceremony, he told me he is scared and is not "wired" for marriage. He says he wants only me for the rest of his life and that isn't the case. He has nothing to say to me, only those words. I feel so sick, like someone hit me with baseball bat allover. I don't know what to do. He had been acted ok with everything we had been planning the past few weeks, I even bought my dress (he knows it too). The fact that we are living together makes this extra difficult. What do I say to him??? ignore him when I come home at night from work? I just don't know. I do know that I can't push this issue right now or nag. This is so unfair to me, and us. I just don't know how to handle this situation. Anyone else go through this?

okay so my best friend and her boyfriend just broke up. So we are planning to take her mind off of things and have a little girl's night with just the two of us. We are going to have facials, eat ice cream, watch movies, dye our hair, and paint our nails, but what else should we do to keep her mind on the sleepover?

Insurances guarantee high prices for medical treatment and medicines, making it unaffordable for those who cannot afford insurance, in my opinion..
Also I think insurance brings up to cost of healthcare because highly educated people must be hired to figure out how to fill out insurance forms that can be 160 pages long (Medicaid and other social plans), more people hired to manage accounts, more time is spent on charting than actually care (special wording must be used to qualify for reimbursements, but can discredit professional if used/taken out of context in court), the cost of investigating insurance fraud and the profits insurance companies much make to pay all of its employees and owners. All of this seems to me to have little to do with actual health care. I think the huge problem (affecting this generation worse than previous ones) is that insurance companies have taken over healthcare and often non-medical professionals are writing protocols and rules that are detrimental to the publics health and financial welfare.
Your thoughts and opinion on this are appreciated.

Notice that the question says "contributed to", not "caused".

Joseph Romm, for whom I have a lot of respect (former Acting Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy and author of 'The Hype About Hydrogen' and 'Hell and High Water') writes:

"the question isn’t whether modern bridges are built to cope with extremes, but whether more extremes than anyone might have designed for contributed to the unusual collapse of a “structurally deficient” bridge. As noted, the NTSB itself has not ruled out the weather as a contributing factor."

http://climateprogress.org/2007/08/06/did-climate-change-contribute-to-the-minneapolis-bridge-collapse/

So I'm curious as to what people think about this. Could the current climate change be significant enough to have contributed to this bridge's collapse, or is this theory a stretch?

then surely planets further out beyond pluto, like really far out, should be more advanced than earth as they have 'technically' been around for a longer time, they could be thousands of years ahead of us, and in a thousand years, this will be earth
