Theists often claim that it takes faith to sit in a chair, or faith that tomorrow will come. This is obviously not using the definition "belief that is not based on proof." Instead, it seems more like confidence or trust.

So when faith is given as a reason to believe in God, is it like saying "I believe in God because I trust that he exists"?

This seems rather circular. Your thoughts?

I'm a 17 year old boy who attends church every Sunday.
Neither of my parents are Christian ( I carpool with a friend every sunday).
I was wondering if it is wrong for me to get an earring (one on the left.)
The earring would be a pretty small gem or something like that. nothing outrageous.

I'm not sure if the Lamictal has balanced me out some or I'm just a happier person lately. I've noticed a huge difference on the Lamictal though. Like, the Lamictal has definitely helped me with Bipolar II. I'm 200 mgs. currently, but does it really help my moods even when I'm drunk?

A lady at work lied and told my manager that I called her some foul names. I did not and even have a witness that I did not. I told my manager this but she chose not to believe me or the witness. I missed a whole days work. This is in my file for 2 years and I am a registered nurse and it will follow me wherever I go to work. I really did not say it and the I just can't believe people can make stuff up and ruin a person's character for no good reason. I went to our H.R. department and tried to grieve it but they said it was past the 5 day mark in our policies. I just do not beieve she should be able to get away with it. Thanks Laurie

I mean, wow. Seriously. Couldn't they work on making it more fun? They make it seem like practicing law is not going to be the party I've always dreamed it would be.

Although I do give a shout in homage out to all ya'll who finished taking it this week! Whoo-hoo!

There was this book I loved called DarkFever by Karen Marie Moning - evidently there's supposed to be 5 more but she's not an author you see on the shelves often so I'd literally have to check back regularly to find out when or if the next one was out.

Is there a way to be notified when a certain author has a new book on the market?

There were two mothers and two daughters, and they all went fishing. All of them caught a fish but when they counted there were only three fish. How come?

That happened to me a few times. That happens when I just asked a question & after the question is asked, the mouse is already there. I have a laptop, so as soon as I touch the mouse to try to move it, it clicks the REPORT ABUSE button before it moves out the way. I guess I have a retarded laptop.

After putting her children to bed, a mother changed into old slacks and a droopy blouse and proceeded to wash her hair. As she heard the children getting more and more rambunctious, her patience grew thin. At last she threw a towel around her head and stormed into their room, putting them back to bed with stern warnings. As she left the room, she heard her three-year-old say with a trembling voice, "Who was *that*?"
