If the man has a clear thinking conscience, like me, he must surely be in turmoil. After all, in today's world, there are ample reasons for all clear thinking people to be flagrant pessimists, like me.

We know from Blair that Bush willfully invaded Iraq without a care as to what the outcome would be. We know this from our clear thinking, and not from anything that Bush has said or any written policy. The invasion was undertaken without a care, not a care in the world, as any clear thinking person can see. Do not listen to republicans who might list reasons, or quote from speeches. They are obviously not clear thinkers.

Especially when you do not know it all, either. I mean what is the point? You don't have to agree; but isn't hate what you are spewing against?

My fiance is Baptist, I am Catholic, we decided to each pick books that explain our beliefs so that we can understand the other's faith before we get married since we are both staying in our respective religions. I need to find a good book that explains the basic practices and beliefs of Catholicism that is a little more accesible than the catechism. I don't know any offhand. I would obviously read them first, but can anyone give me any suggestions to start with. I don't want them to be preachy or to sound like they are criticizing other faiths or trying to convert because that is not what I want to do, I just want it to explain.

I have been working for my current employer for 2 months and although I have been given my contract and it states one month notice period, I have never signed this...

I want to leave this current employment ASAP and wonder where I stand on the matter, I am still within my probationary period and am not happy and have been offered a new job- where do I stand in terms of my pay I am due and also legally - ie can they force me to work the one month notice when I never signed my contract and also I work in recruitment and am going to work for another recruitment agency thus I believe this may be regarded as the "competition" although moving into a different sector ie from IT to Legal???? Any help would be much appreciated before I plan my next step??

I'm not religious, but don't believe in Darwinian theory. I believe that evolution has to be use based somewhat along the lines of Lamark or perhaps Lysenko.

Can anyone explain this one: The Bee Orchid pollinates and breeds by attracting bees to it and does so by looking surprisingly like a bee. How is this possible, if mutations are random? The orchids mutations were assumably not conscious, and an orchid cannot know what a bee looks like.

Assuming the first mutation, which had the orchid start looking vaguely like a bee occurred randomly. Further mutations making the orchid look more like a bee through "genetic drift" must become even more so improbable if the orchid can't know what a bee looks like.

I don't think that random mutations result in evolution; it must be environmental factors that "COMPEL" the mutation.

Any comments.. sensible people only. no Christian lunatics please.

Fort Lauderdale's Republican Mayor Jim Naugle wants to spend a quarter million dollar on a robotic toilet that is supposed to make it more difficult of gay people to have public sex on the beach. This is clearly homophobic of him, as he stated "We're trying to provide a family environment where people can take their children who need to use the bathroom," he said, "without having to worry about a couple of men in there engaged in a sex act."

My questions for this joke of a mayor:

1. You think three minutes is sufficient time to go to the bathroom? You don't have young kids, do you?
2. According to your plan, the stall's door opens after three minutes, so that those outside can see in. Using your logic, wouldn't this expose more people to seeing gay sex occur?
3. I never knew gay people were the only ones that had sex in public restrooms. Do you have a bit of inside knowledge of that?
