Especially when you do not know it all, either. I mean what is the point? You don't have to agree; but isn't hate what you are spewing against?

Most of you gave reasonable answers. Thank you. And, I agree.
deazone: yours is the type I am talking about. Perfect example. I have seen a lot of your type on here.
Agnostics are not the same as atheists; and usually in my experience do not hate people.
A lot of people who believe in God hate the violence behind religion in the world, too.

Herodotus: so calling a spade a spade is not loving? Sorry, some things are hateful. And some people act hatefully.
This is a fair question. I am just asking.

Good answer Crabby Patty. But hate is hate is hate is hate. Many people of faiths want the violence to stop too.

"For atheists and all religion haters" Grouped like that it seems to imply that atheists are among the religion haters. There may be a minority that do although I have never met any. Yes, you see a few obnoxious comments on R&S but certainly not more than you would for most questions on a contested subject.
Truth is that the real hate is between religous people. The suni hate the shia. The catholics hate the protestants. The muslims hate catholics and so on. And not just nasty talk on R&S. Guns and bombs and beheadings and such. This is one of the reasons that some atheists feel they should speak out against religions. They want the hate stopped more than anyone because they can see how silly it is.

There are no more atheists who hate religion than there are religious people who hate atheists. People who "hate" those of a different point of view are simply uncertain of their own beliefs. A person who is secure in his belief has no need to hate others. They just accept that the other person is different and that the other person may or may not ever come to believe the same way.

I don't hate. I mean, I'm not willing to let believers teach Creationism in science classes, or tell me I have to live my life according to religious rules when I'm not hurting anyone. But I definitely don't hate anyone simply because they believe differently.
Edit: Do you hate me because I'm a non-deistic Pagan? Even if I were deistic, I'd still have different gods than you. But you could accept that and let me live happily as long as I wasn't hurting other people, right? It's the same thing for me. I can accept you have different beliefs. But I can't accept that yours are inherently superior to mine and should be given privileges. Sorry.

I don't know who you are referring to when you say 'religion haters'. As an Atheist I don't hate religion, I merely pity those who cannot climb out of that primitive mindset. I also like to do what I can to ensure that such beliefs do not affect my government, or court decisions.
People who are mentally unstable, ie; those who think invisible flying creatures are sitting on their shoulders etc, should also not be teaching children.

I do not 'hate' religion in any way. I just find it totally pointless and unnecessary. It seems to me that the hate you talk about comes from within religion, between different religious ideologies. You do not see atheists and christians at war over beliefs, killing one another. More often than not you see christians at war with muslims, catholics at war with protestants, and so on.

I think you'll find that atheists generally know more about a persons religion than they do themselves. I've often argued with people about verses in their holy book that they weren't even aware existed. Also, your arguement is problematic, you saaid atheists and religion haters, you should have just said religion haters, because not all atheists hate religion, some even respect it. Myself, I'd like to push you'se all onto a boat and push you out into the middle of the pacific ocean while firing flaming arrows at you, but that's just me.

Well, it is the simple matter that they are brainwashed zombies that will often do stupid things that are hateful. Our entire society is being held back because of a stupid outdated religion that is so obviously wrong it makes me disgusted that people are gullible enough to believe in it.
EDIT:
hopflower: I am an agnostic, sheesh.. What do you think agnostics can not also be atheistic.. Man you people are delusional..

I don't know ANY atheiest who hate people for what they believe. However, religions have caused and continue to cause great harm in the world, and it is reasonable that rational people should seek to stop this. This often appears as opposition to religion, because the religious do not like to be stopped, however vile what they are doing is.
