Why??

I am concerned about all the media attention surrounding the disbarring of DA Nifong in the Duke Lacrosse Team rape case. From all the articles I have been reading, there have actually been many accounts of misconduct by Duke students other than this case. It doesn't surprise me that as a DA, whether the rape account was accurate or not, that he would try the case to the fullest extent. There also appears to be other witnesses after the alleged event that noted behaviorism that could conclude that the rape indeed took place.
What is worriesome to me is the fact that the DA who tried the case is being made a public example. Whether the young woman suffered the traumatic event, or was money hungry and lied about the event, the idea that the DA is being made an example is peculiar. Does anyone else feel that this might be a scare tactic from an agenda to scare off prosecutors from taking on cases where a black woman has been raped?

When they stay every other weekend they always end up sleeping in the same bed. Sometimes all three in a single. He does not have his own place. Staying at a mutual friends house or his parents. Other sleeping arrangements are available but he won't be firm with them when they ask to be in his bed. Preferring them to idolise him. My friend is not happy about this either and I doubt if his parents would be. They are usually away when he stays at theirs. They sleep in their own beds at home, coming in for a cuddle in the mornings at weekends. When my youngest wakes with a nightmare I go to her room. I am not happy with the situation, they are 4 and nearly 7. Their stepfather thinks it is totally wrong and so do most people I speak with.

I breastfeed, she poops alot. she burps ok, she dont like to be swaddled, i change her often, I hold her alot, ect... she cries everytime she is awake and not eating? please any suggestions? I got gas drops. isnt she to young to be colic she is now only 11 days old?

I was seriously hungover at work today after a 21st birthday party last night that went on untill the wee hours of the morning!

My first Vegas trip!!! Going for a weekend in a few months and don’t know how money works out there. My bank doesn’t have a local branch and I plan on playing with more then I can get from my ATM card. I know I could apply for a marker but don’t need THAT much. I really don’t want to take that much cash on a plane with me either. What do people do? How do they get money?

My best friend is married she and her husband have been split up for a little over a year. Since about Jan 07, she has been seeing a man off and on, her husband has been seeing someone off and on since about March 07.

Her and hubby have been talking recently and wanting to work their marriage out. How do they tell the "others" that they want to fix things?

Yes, the "others" know that they are married. My best friend knows that she made a mistake by leaving, and that she still loves her husband as much as she did the day she married him. As he does her.

They want to work to make it last, they are young she is almost 29 and he is 32, and they have some great kids.

We live in England and have found a couple of massive spiders in the shed. We have never seen any like these before. Very big bodies, hairy. Does anyone know what type of spiders they might be and can they bite?

We only try to go after the individual... when somebody messes up it is that person who gets in trouble.... and I totally agree with this.... why should i be punished for the mistake of someone else. that´s just our culture. and i love it.... we are on the extreme left or right whichever one, we´re on the extreme.

other extreme is the collectivist societies... meaning if somebody messes up, him and the group are punished, so now not only are you motivated not to mess up by yourself but the group motivates you too....

we should take a more collectivist approach to Iraq... 1 guy in the group shoots a gun and we look for that guy... he gets away and does it again.... this is individualistic... going after the individual

1 guy in a group shoots a gun we go after the whole group. this would send a clear message that the groups should not allow these individuals to shoot the guns, and if they do then they all have a problem. this way they wouldn´t allow these guys to shoot the guns

I want to initiate an open-source style project to design an advanced (animated) GUI for a new application. No initial commercial ambitions...just an ambition/curiosity of mine.

I would like to start with artists / graphic designers instead of coders because I really want to 'think outside the box' on the interface. (i.e. probably initially break all known GUI / windowing rules most coders know and love).

Most sites (like Sourceforge) seem oriented to coders rather than designers. I am not a designer myself, so I do not know where they hang out and where I could recruit some to the project.

A sourceforge for designers would be ideal, but I have a feeling it does not exist.

Any ideas on sites where I could start would be appreciated! I have beginner - intermediate knowledge on the open source concept itself, so anywhere I could do some more self-education on that would be great too.

I had my nose pierced but it was with a gun, and it was just a stud. When I went swimming it fell out and the hole closed before I got home. Now Im starting a job in 2 weeks and you cant wear jewelry. But my mom won't pay for me to get my nose repierced so I have to wait till I start my job to get the money to pay for it. So can a nose retainer be put in as a starter ring?
