Hi,
I'm in intermediate Algebra in college. We are now on chapter 4 which is systems of equations. For the life of me I cannot seem to understand the elimination and substitution process. I'm getting so discouraged with myself over this and am starting to lose the confidence that took me so long to build. Could some please explain these two problems to me in step detail? I really need help. Thanks so much.

1.) x+y=10
y= 4x

2.) 4x-y=9
2x + 3y= -24

I prefer to find someone that owns a house that is renting out a room rather than an apartment. Any website that I've seen (roomster, etc) you have to pay to check your messeges. I'm not going to pay 30 dollars a month fo that. Does anyone know of any FREE websites where I can try to find someone in my area (Illinois) that is renting out a room or apartment?

It must have started thousands of years ago and it is now societies way of thinking but i was wandering where the whole 'women are the weaker sex' thing originated.

If it is pure science that women dont have the same level of testosterone than men then that stands to reason.

I was also thinking over the many years has it become the normal way of thinking that women actually embrace the 'weaker sex' term as it portrays a message of women loving being feminine and protected by the stronger male?

I will say it right here, right now.............strong women are sexy! hands down!!

Women also can be strong and feminine

and yet when a guy meets a strong woman, he feels his role as protector is threatened.

In this modern world, do you all still believe women are the weaker sex?

OK, when I was a kid, I got to run around ALL DAY without my parents even checking up on me. My kids got almost the smae treatment, but with a little more supervision. But thy are growing up, and I am worried their kids won't even be able to play outside, because of all the crazy people out there.

Why is our country becoming like this? does anyone know the reason?

Because punishment is not harsh enough for sex offenders?
Because groups like NAMBLA are free to spread the idea that child molestation is OK?
Because the "free love" movement made people think that all sex is OK?

WHY has this country become so crime ridden, especially sex crimes? Does anyone know the answer? And what can we do to stop it????

A police officer came upon a terrible wreck where the driver and passenger had been killed. As he looked upon the wreckage a little monkey came out of the brush and hopped around the crashed car. The officer looked down at the monkey and said, "I wish you could talk."

I have 3 times tried to use the automated system on this company's website to remove myself from their mailing lists. I have also written to their customer service department asking them to remove me.

I have the system32\hal.dll file missing or corrupt message as posted here a few times but the xp cd does nothing and there is only a black screen with that message. i tried pressing f4 and all the f buttons and I am so pissed off right now, my laptop is BRAND NEW I TELL YOU! please help!
