Piltdown Man: An Orang-utan Jaw and a Human Skull. Alleged to be 500,000 years old, they were displayed as an absolute proof of human evolution in several museums. For more than 40 years, many scientific articles were written on "Piltdown man", many interpretations and drawings were made, and the fossil was presented as important evidence for human evolution. No fewer than 500 doctoral theses were written on the subject. A lie that lasted 40 and challenged the faith of many Christians. But was proven a LIE.

I have a 1988 Pontiac Firebird that when not started for 5 or 6 days the battery is drained. The battery is good. What can cause it and how do I find the problem?

I was visiting America just before Easter and of course Easter found me there. I was shocked beyong belief that everything continues as normal during this special time and America, being a Christian country, should be the one leading the whole world in celebrating by making sure there is no school and no-one goes to work (public holiday). In South Africa, it is a great time and we go out to visit our parents and relatives to be together remembering what Christ did for mankind. Am I missing something?

There is no doubting the fact that Iran is behind the mayhem in Iraq . By going into dialogue with Iran, the USA is conceding victory to Iran in the ongoing war. This I view will drasticaly erode America,s influence and superiority in the region and in the world at large..

I have had a scan and an NT scan, both of which are fine. However I have not had any appointment for 'me' to take blood, check urine etc. Maybe this is normal but I would appreciate advice from mums please. I realise it will change hospital to hospital, but when did you receive your first hospital appointment to check on your welfare?

We just purchased a leather couch that is a light taupe color. It has some green undetones to it. We had planned on painting the walls a shade of green, but I am afraid the green walls would make the couch look even more green. We have wood flooring that is oak. 17% of the population in the USA live in poverty. In some countries, as much as 97% of their population live in poverty. For over a century, we have been eliminating the roadblocks that have been keeping people in poverty in the USA. So why does it still exist?
What keeps people living in poverty in the land of opportunity, bad judgement, shortcomings in character, addictions?
The front running Democratic presidential candidates are claiming they will help the poor. Just what will these candidates do that hasn't already been done to help those people who can lift themselves out of poverty? Will they create federal handouts rather than a hand up? Do we want to travel the road of socialism in order to elinimate the 17% poverty rate in the USA? Or, is the USA already the ideal place where the common person can get ahead in life.

hi,

i am basically a computer student, but im always curious about physics and its concepts...

during my lunch i was just thinking what difference would it make if something like ( electron or for that matter some object say a plane ) traveled at the speed of light or even more ie., 3 * 10^^8 meters/second. will any laws of physics change from the normal situation which we are in and this DIFFERENT SITUATION.

please help me out in understanding this physics concept...

I was in a moderate speed crash on tuesday night. I went to the hopital and everything checked out, they just said i was bruised and sore. I was in the passenger seat and got hit on front passenger side.

anyways, i keep getting lower(and somtimes upper and lower)leg cramps, so often that i can't sleep for more than 15 minuets at a time?what is going on?How can I keep them under control?

The classic hehehe. Basically I could be and I don't want it full stop. The father has just dumped me, I'm scared I mean should I tell him? Should I involve him in what I do? He said to me he'd leave me if I fell pregnant anyway. But if I were to go through a abortion I'd want him there, if only for the support. But, would this wreck our friendship?
