I was just reading a book on economics the other day (don't ask me why, very bored) and came to a section on improving productivity in the workplace. One of the main points was to keep wages low and simply rely on the constant turn-over in minimum wage jobs to keep wages low. Some jobs have around 70% quitting rates after a year. I see this type of activity in many types of corporations (Wal-Mart and retail are the biggest that come to mind).

Instead of improving profits by keeping wages low, why not give workers a stake in a business and give them productivity bonuses. If a worker puts out more work than another, then they should be paid more. It seems to me this would light a fire under the other workers to work harder to try and catch up, leading to greater productivity. This could also point out those employees who are not being productive and simply doing the least amount of work for minimum wage.

I need some friendly advice because I’m new to dating. I’m a gay virgin male in his early 20's and I’m talking to a guy online in his early 30's long distance who seems like my opposite in every aspect of our lives. He seems like the man of my dreams but then I think about reality and where I’m at now in life. I am a broken person inside and out. I come from a rough background but he’s willing to take me as I am and assist me. This man seems greater than who I am, he does things that I’ve always wanted to do like travel but I have an anxiety issues. If I end up with him things for me could either be really good or end up being really bad. I think more about the bad because it would take me away from family and I’m not sure if I can really trust or depend on him to not take advantage of my weaknesses. I'm going to buy a laptop that I'll use for Photoshop, 3ds Max, and gaming.

I read that if an application isn't programmed to use both processors, it'll use only one. For example, 3GHz processor will run faster than 2X 2GHz.

So, should I go for, lets say, 3.4Ghz instead of 2x 1.8Ghz? But isn't 3.4Ghz at a higher risk of burning out?

I'll be going to college and getting a Bachelors degree, and joining the Military. The only job other then Infantry I have thought about in the Military is a helicopter pilot.

The only reasons why i'm getting a Bachelors degree is so I can hopefully become an Officer, so i'll get paid more and have more benefits. And for that extra knowledge.

Would I need to have a specific type of degree to become an Officer or a helicopter pilot ? If I have a Bachelors of Law, will I still be allowed to be a Pilot/Infantry?

My puppy (shih tzu/peke mix) is 6 month old male, we've had him since he was about 10weeks. Good behavior, gets on well with the other dogs he meets on the street when we walk him.
My neighbors just got a Westie male puppy, 6 months also, but he's only been here for about a week, very friendly. We figure our pup might be a bit territorial. And he is, especially around me. That being said, they've began 'playing' with each other now. But should I worry that while the westie is always wagging his tail and friendly about it, my pup is slightly more aggressive?
Is there anyway to help them get along? Will it help if they met on neutral territory (out in the park/street)?
