I never really thought about it till my wife told me she closes her eyes. My whole life i have always kept my eyes open. I just look at the ceiling until the dentists face is in the way, then I kind of look through him. The thought never occurred to me to close my eyes, but now that my wife says she closes her eyes, I feel maybe my dentist, and his assistants may think I'm a freak and assume I'm gazing into their eyes.

several times a day since it was 2 days late. The phone rings, my answering machine comes on, and no one says anything and then it hangs up. This goes on constantly and the couple times I have accidently answered because I thought it was someone I was just talking too, they have asked to talk to me. I just said wrong number and hung up. Now I have had law firm call me twice, and leave a long message but at the same time I am still getting the calls where they say nothing. Is this the same people calling or are the lawyers and the credit company both calling?

How many of you have actually been in countries ie, South East Asia? The person that I was refering to is actually my neice by marriage. As for the term "anchor babies", This is actually a recently coined term. My neice was here on a Tourist Visa. So she was here legally. She only wanted the very best for her child, as any parent would. The US is portrayed as a country of unbeleivable opportunities, "a land of milk & honey". IF most of you good people out there could see the way many people live in other countries, you would understand that they are willing to use whatever means necessary to have a better life for their families. I see that I have hit "a nerve" with many out there. At times I agree with most of your views. We need to get down on our knees & thank God that we live in such a great country where we are free to express our views. God Bless all of you.

Photosynthesis is a reaction how plants produce Oxygen. Oxygen is what we breath. What I am wondering is given time are living things that breath oxygen (eg Humans, animals etc )consuming more than what is being produced. If so does that mean we will end up with restricted amounts of oxygen and so we are no longer able to live. Is this a worst threat to us than global warming.
Due to destruction of plants that produce oxygen are we not choking ourselves and eventually that might lead to our extinction.

If you stand in the middle of the continental USA and draw an imaginary east west line, on the day of the summer solstice, the sun will appear to be north of that line in the early AM and late afternoon. How many hours will the sun appear to be south of that line, such that the shadows will point at least partly north?

As the calendar leaves the solstice, how fast does that answer change?

In reference to Christians versus "everybody else". Where does it come from? On the Christian side, most Christians will attest that anyone not following their religion is serving Satan, even if it is unknowingly.

However, even here on R&S, it seems most of the other religions come together in a common argument against Christianity. Members of other religions will more quickly align themselves with an Atheist than a Christian ... even though the Atheist finds their beliefs to be equally absurd.

What are your thoughts? Does one cause the other? Or do they both serve to reinforce the opinions of the opposing sides?
