when the mother is 6-7 months along.

I think 7 months is a good time to have it... should be able to see the bump and will give you time to return any duplicate gifts and put together any items like strollers, cribs, etc. Don't wait too late... I know a lot of people say 8 months, but my son came 4 weeks early... I would have missed the shower if my friends had it when I was 8 months.

A lot of people say you should wait to have them when your showing real well because its welcoming the baby, and its more believable when your showing a lot. With my first son I didn't have one till I was 71/2 months, but with this one I had it at 4 months. I did that because my sister is moving and wouldn't be here at the other time. I say whatever works best for the mom is when it should be held. A lot of people do not show by 4 months, but I was showing by 2 1/2 months. Good Luck!

at least after about 4 months? because once you know the sex it helps ppl in buying gifts. 7 months is usually a good time though cuz you can play the string game. where you cut the string as to where how much you think the mommy to be is around. and everyone loves to touch the belly.. its like the only way they get to connect with the baby before its born. by the way... congradulations!!

Most people have a baby shower during the last trimester. Closer to the end so there is less chance of miscarriage and everybody already knows you are pregnant. I waited until after I knew the sex of the baby before I even thought about it. After that I tried to stop myself from shopping, but found it difficult, so just try to have your shower before you do all your own shopping! Try to time it for close enough to the baby that you are getting your house ready and can find uses for the items you get as presents and still have enough time to shop for needed items that you didn't get as presents. :)

At about 8 months, this way all the friends and family can ohh and aww over your tummy, possibly feel the baby move. Play games guessing the size. Also so that if the baby comes a little early the baby shower is already over.

I would say the beginning of 8 months or around 32-34 weeks along. After that the chances of having the baby are increased, so the mommy may give birth before her shower LOL Plus, you want Mommy to be biiiiig, but not uncomfortable. :)

I had mine at 8 months. Some people start as early as 6, though. Most women prefer to have theirs in the last trimester so that they appear pregnant for pictures. Also, it's best to have it late in the pregnancy so your house doesn't get over-cluttered with the baby things for months before Baby arrives.

I had mine at 7-8 months. That way god forbid you or the expectant mother is out of danger for losing the baby. Also makes it fun to feel the baby kick for people at the shower. You can also guess how big around her stomach is and then measure and have people win prizes... Congratulations to the mum
