Anybody know the world surfboard speed record? On a related note, do ocean waves always come rolling up the beach at the same speed? Does the height of the wave affect how fast you could surf?

I want to get a new computer with an AMD processor, cos I've heard they're pretty goodI'm lost, they should come with a sticker saying "this is the equivalent to a Pentium" or "this is the equivalent to a Core 2 Duo" - joke. I also don't understand how to judge their speed in relation to their Intel counterparts.

It has twisting vine parts and 'suckers' that leave circles on the surface it has been on. The leaves parts are joined like a maple leaf. The leaves are just coming out now and are green and red tinged. In the autumn they turn very oarange red and a quite large in size appx the size of your outstretched hand.
I would love toknow what it is, because it is so nice and when and if I move home would like to have another.

Japan already bans almost all privately owned firearms, with only strictly licensed and registered rifles and shotguns allowed for the privileged few who can afford them. Yet here they are tightening down the controls again because (SURPRISE!!!) criminals used illegally gotten guns to kill a notable person.

Geez, I think that tired old canard about "only criminals will have guns" is quite apropos for this situation. Am I correct?

I have a friend who is a married woman and has lots of guy friends (who are single). Her husband throws a fit if she goes to dinner alone with a guy friend. He thinks it's ok for them to have lunch together but not dinner. That seems old fashioned to me. What do you all think?

I went to try & get approved for medi-cal, the social worker approved me but put me on a "share cost" plan, meaning, I am basically a cash paying patient. My "share cost" is 1700, and I have to pay a co-payment plus pay for every procedure done to me at the doctors, including ultra sounds. I have no problem paying the co-payment but everything else I cannot afford.

I spoke to my ob/gyn about this and said that was wrong, I tried speaking w/ the social worker again and she is not approving me for anything else.

I only make 430 a week, the father is not in the picture, I pay rent along with other bills....I don't know what to do!!

Is the social worker screwing me over?????

Astronomers have found the most Earth-like planet outside our Solar System to date, a world which could have water running on its surface.

The planet orbits the faint star Gliese 581, which is 20.5 light-years away in the constellation Libra.

Scientists made the discovery using the Eso 3.6m Telescope in Chile.

I have a 7 month old daughter, we make about $55,000 take home a year and we don't do too bad, we have a house and cars, I do get wic which means my food for my child is paid for. I am a stay at home mom, while I do babysit but, I do get to take my daughter w/ me. So I'm having a really hard time deciding if I should just go ahead and have another child and get it over with now, while I'm staying home or if I should wait a while? PLease help! And please no ignorant answers.
