My husband is leaving for Saudi for 6 months?

And we want to be able to keep in touch via cell phones. We have cingular. Can he use his phone over there? He has a motorola slvr. Also I have heard that you can buy pre paid sim cards for over there? is this true? anyone know where to buy them?

Jehovah's witnesses, watchtowerites?

Why does the New World Translation insert the word Jehovah in the New Testament when there are absolutely no Greek manuscripts that have it in there? Isn’t this playing with the text?

What type of loan?

Last Sept. my husband and I purchased our first home. We were gifted equity of 20% (probably more) so not to have to pay mortgage insurance (the home had previously belonged to his grandmother who is now deceased).

The home needs some repairs. A new roof, siding and windows. We have the equity, and my husband's credit is pretty good. We've been making regular (on time) payments with this bank for both a vehicle and the mortgage.

Should we get:
--a home equity line of credit,
--a home equity loan,
or
--refinance the house?
and Why?

Will this help me lose weight?

My daily routine consists of waking up at 6am, eating one serving of Healthy Start cereal with one cup of skim milk. At 9am, I have either an orange, banana, or a cup of low fat yogurt. For noon I have a Weight watchers "Smart One" tv dinner, a low calorie snack at 2, then I run/walk 4 miles, I drink a bottle of water with Propel in it, and for dinner I have a Healthy Shoice TV dinner. I do this every day. Will I lose?

"If you change auto insurance companies, can you file a claim on an old accident with the new company?

This was an accident where I accidentally scraped a mailbox, putting an indention into the side of my car...it is about a $1,500 repair; my old insurance had a $500 deductible, but I never filed-and now I am wanting to change companies. For lack of a better term, is this like having a pre-existing condition with medical insurance?

How to gain weight?

OKAY I KNOW EVERYBODY IS TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT ESPECIALLY THIS TIME OF YEAR BUT I AM TRYING TO GAIN WEIGHT. I AM NOT UNHEALTHY BUT I THINK I COULD BENEFIT FROM GAINING TEN POUNDS AND IT WOULD BOOST MY SELF CONFIDENCE. If robots are doing all the work, how come people work ever longer hours?

Back in the 1970s a famous politician once declared "By 2010 we will have a 3 day week, because machines will do many of the jobs humans do today" (I can't remember who it was).

The second part of the prediction has more or less come true. Technological progress, automation and the IT revolution has meant that less labor is required to make stuff. In the 1970s a factory with 1000 workers had a lower output than a factory with 100 workers does today. Even service jobs are slowly being replaced by machines. My local supermarket, for example, has introduced self-service check-out tills and fired half of the staff.

But what about the first part of the prediction? If it takes less and less people to make more and more stuff, why do people need to work ever longer hours? It doesn't add up. What are all these people actually DOING in their job, if machines do most of the work anyhow? Could it be that most "service economy" jobs just move wealth from A to B, rather than actually create it?
