Based on my last question it's quite evident that they don't. They believe that they will get to heaven while others (including loved ones) will burn forever in hell. They are ok with this saying that their god evidently will brainwash them so they forget about everyone they care about... That's a pretty sad outlook.

My family has a red eared slider turtle that we have had for about 9 or 10 years now. He was just big enough to be allowed to buy when we got him. Over the years, we have become very attached to him and he has to us as well but recently he has started actting weird. He just constantly bangs himself against his tank and digs in his gravel. That's all he does now. It's like he is very aggravated at something but we do not know what. We take him out to run around and clean his tank etc. so he is very well taken care of. With the recent pet food recalls we have been wondering if that may have something to do with it. We give him Wardley Reptile Sticks. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate them very much!

As a Red Sox fan saying I support the Red Sox but do not want to fund Schilling's efforts is essentially what you guys are saying.

I support the Colts, but they should stop paying Manning.

I support the troops, but let's not fund them.

i just had a friend stay at my house for two weeks, who had just bought a $40,000 4wd. and then preceeded to spend more money on various accesories. which is fair enough untill we get to the pub and hang on a minute, somebody cant buy a round of drinks, hes got no money. in fact the whole 2 weeks he didnt have any money, he didnt mind me spending my hard earned money buying drinks and food. it made me come to the question, are we putting to much pressure in ourselves to look cool and have new things like cars. sure id love a nice new shiny car, but so would anyone. i feel sorry for my friend

I have a Chevy Nova wagon with a 4 speed and a 194 6 cylinder. I have added headers and dual exhaust. I will be adding a 2bbl soon. Rear gears are 3:36 tires are 14/70s. The car gets driven daily and I want more grunt out of it.
The two cams I'm looking at are Comp Cams's 252H and 260H.
The manufacturer suggests I go with the 260H. My only concern is a large drop in gas mileage. The cam I have now is stock. Granted the valves will be held open for higher and longer times, but for the times I'm driving "normal" will this be an issue? Thanks.

I don't know how to get over the fact that my husband keeps on defending my "EX-BEST FRIEND", she betrayed me turning my husband against me, by giving out my email to all kinds of guys, by telling my husband it was ok for him to move in with her, by giving porno sites to my 15 yr son, by persisting to be my husband's best friend. I went against my husband and trying to be a good friend and now he uses that as his excuse! to keep his friendship with her. I don't know if they still talk, (according to him they are not!) but yet I haven't heal from find out emails between them in which she tells him to lie to me and to go out to her place or do things together, where he complaints to her about me and she adds more to the fire. I am very very hurt by their betrayed. I don't know what to believe or if I ever going to heal from this wound. My husband and I have arguments over her and all her intentions! I am just tired and fed up of feeling this way. How do I forget all the hurt?

Would you consider Atheism a religion?

Wikipedia says-
A religion is a set of beliefs and practices generally held by a human community, involving adherence to codified beliefs and rituals and study of ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology.

So let's review, a religion is a set of beliefs and practices, well you believe in evolution which is your personal atheistic community doctrine. It involves adherence to your personal codified beliefs in evolution, humanism, and sociology. You study cultural traditions of past atheists to develop further their doctrines. You also study the writings and history of Darwin and others who have come before you, much like prophets. You even have modern day prophets like Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins who proclaim from a pulpit.

So, I pose this question to all, not just atheists, is atheism a religion or not?
