Forgive me for a lack of technical terms here, as I know little about cars...
The vehicle is leaking power steering fluid from a rubber (I think) tube the runs behind/near the front tire on the driver's side.
Now, if I look under there, I can see a crack in the tube from which the fluids are leaking.
The thing is, it's had trouble before and a mechanic gave a $400 estimate to have the whole thing replaced, but I can't afford that...
Are there any other ways to fix it cheaply, without replacing the whole thing?
I tried electrical tape, but with the freezing winter weather and the greasy tube, the tape just won't stick...
What should I do? I barely get by on my meager paycheck as is and can't afford to have it fixed...
