This is not a jab at anyone particular religion, just an honest queery.
Take, for example, the gender of your chosen deity. Now, for me, gender implies reproduction which in turn implies a linear life span whereas most deities are considered to be immortal. The idea of any immortal (was/is/will be, all at the same time) having gender is a direct contradiction. Also, omnipresence. If your deity is in everything and is everywhere, how can it be confined to any one physical form? Therefore, how are we created in it's image (to make an example of the christian view point)? Both of these core concepts seem at odds with themselves and would make it clear to most thinking persons that these religions are anything but divine, more outmoded social control mechanisms. Just to add, I'm not interested in recieving any "shut up, Thats why!" style answers such as "you've got to have faith" etc.

Please help she is my youngest, and wants nothing to do with the potty. I didn't have a problem training my other 3 children, but my youngest daughter is very against it. I would appreciate any ideas I get. I bought a gallon bucket of gum and told her that she can have some everytime she uses the toilet, but it's not working. She hardly ever gets candy so I thought it would work, but nope. I even had her actually walk around with underwear on all day and she went for me once, but everyother time I put her on the potty she just sat there and said all done. I don't want to sit her on the potty for too long because I don't want to make her hate it anymore than she already does. Please help.

My mother has lupus. She has permanent discolorations on her face from the "butterfly rash" from lupus. She is very beautiful and I would love to find her a cream or lotion that would reduce the appearance of the blemishes on her face or make them disappear. Has anyone used anything of this sort with success? Her self-esteem has suffered greatly from this, and I want to do anything I can to help her. If you have used anything with results, please tell me the name and where it is available. All help is appreciated.
