True altruism in animals has been overwhelmingly discredited, the majority of perceived cases being attributed to either kin selection or recipricl altruism. Can seemingly altruistic behavior in humans be described as such also? Western society has entire career fields based on altruism, e.g. life guards, police officers, fire fighters, military. How is this paradox reconciled?

There is no proof yet that what has been proposed by our (UK) security forces is true - that there has been indeed a plot uncovered to kidnap/execute someone on UK soil. Have recently been offered a job, I originally turned the offer down because of the salary, but they came back and agreed to match my current salary. (New job would involve no travel, saving £1000pa).

My current employers requested (beginning of contract) 4 weeks notice, although new employer is keen for me to start in 2 weeks.

It would be a case of just walking from my current job. My boss, is a good boss, and I don't know if I would want to do that to him, also, it would burn bridges.

If the new job didn't work out for whatever reason, giving 4 weeks noticce to current employer would leave gates open for me to go back, walking after 2 would leave me no where!

What would you do?

I remember seeing this on the Disney channel 8-10 years ago, possibly made in the 80s or 90s and its a live action.

A older sister was babysitting her brother one night (i think thats how it went)

And the little boy gets kidnapped by some creature(s) and goes to this other planet/magical place from there house. His older sister goes after him to try and save him and i remember this tall, hairy big-foot type creature. The sister sees this creature peeing in a lake or something (the only strong memory i have of this movie, lol.) Anyone know what this movie was called?

Johnson's baby wips or the johnson&johnson company number or addess/email.
I have bought my son some wipes but every wipe has a black mark which is another fibre. I have tried to contact them on phone with the number i have on the wipes but that no longer extists. The number i have ends in 333.

There's a strange behavior in my daughter’s class (first grade, 7 year olds) -two little girls behaving like as if they're better than the rest of the kids. Little Snobs.
Now, my daughter is very frustrated by that, because one of those two was my daughter's best friend until the other snob shown up.
Her self esteem went very low, so low that she now wants to have everything exactly the same as her former best friend. The clothes, the looks, the room, a brother, she even asked us last night can we change her name!?
Additionally, it seems that my wife and i lost her respect, because we’re not like her ex-friend's parents!?
I spoke to the teacher, she noticed this frustration not only with my daughter, so she wants to fight that snobby behavior...
I spoke to the school's psychologist, but (IMHO) the lady is a lazy idiot.

Please, can you give me some advice how to approach my daughter, what to do, how to show her that the behavior of the two snobs is wrong... Thanks in advance!

I have this friend and we occasionally hang out. I have come to think that he was interested in me, he'd buy my drinks at the bar and I've been to his home a couple of times. He's kissed me a couple of times but there is one problem. He really likes a mutual friend of ours, and everyone knows about it. She told me that they would never be together b/c he wasn't her type, but they continue to be really good friends, they do everything together.So here lately his calls have withered away and we hardly talk outside of work but we still hang out afterwards. So the other day one of our mutual friends made a move on me and we made out at the bar. That night he found out about it and he didn't seem upset when he asked me about it. He made it out like it was funny. I told him that I had been drinking and it was just a fun time. But a couple of days after that, he's been ignoring me and my messages and my phone calls. I thought we were friends but now he hardly talks to me, what's going on?
