My mother in law recently gave my 7 mnth son soda water without asking me first. I was quite annoyed as other than his milk feeds I only ever give him water.

Don't give your baby any soda! It is unhealthy even for grownups so rather teach your baby from a very small age to drink water and fruit juice! Good luck

Soda will deplete calcium...not only teeth but all bones! At 7 mo. even too much water is not good. Milk only is what our Dr. says.

They don't need anything but their formula! Giving them water or juice or soda water is just not necessary. You don't want them to fill their tummy on anything but their feedings, and giving them water or anything else will make them refuse their feedings. They get all their nutritional and fluid needs from breastmilk or formula.

Nah it wont hurt him unless it was an excessive amount. And even then it would probably only give him a tummyache! I would be annoyed too! that is totally unacceptable!
