If I change everything about myself. I don't wear makeup because I can't put it on right. I feel like I am wearing a mask. I don't wear my hair down that often. I dress very casual. Do I have to become very girly and prissy just to attract some guy? Is that what guys really want? Some girl that looks good on their arms? What is guys really want?

This teen seems to think everyone expects her to be perfect. This isn't the case and she cannot provide an argument that proves anyone has that high expectation of her. She makes average grades, and there's no pressure from her parents to strive to do better. When she's under stress or when a teacher upsets her, she obsesses over this one thought --- everyone's expectations for her to be perfect- - - - to the point she suffers great anxiety.

What I'm thinking is that she confusing her own expectations of herself with what others may or may not actually think or expect of her. But it is hard to reason with her.

Please, is there any helpful ideas to deal with this on her own or with the help of family/friends? Going to a psychiatrist right now is not an option.

I work nights, sleep during the day. I was waken by an explosion of sparks just pass my porch on the other side of my tree, at the back of my neighbor‘s house. I hurried outside, but the sparks seemed to have gone and the air thick with smoke.
We’ve had transformers blow on the corner, but this seemed too low for the wirers.
So I called the fire dept. (not 911, because I wasn’t sure it classed as an emergency and I told the operator that the smoke seemed to be dissipating now, so…)
Big ol’ fire truck came out and found a honking huge fire cracker in the bushes.
They took my name and D.O.B. and info, and left saying it was legal firecracker.
Admittedly, I come from a county where firecrackers are strictly illegal except for on the beach on the fourth of July, so I’m completely unaccustomed to firecrackers on open streets like allowed here in Humboldt.
Here’s the Q:
Am I going to be in trouble for calling the FD?
What was I suppose to do with an explosion of sparks and a lot of smoke?
When do you call the FD?

If you were making under $30,000 a year, and you got a job offer at a pharmaceutical company who was not aware of how much you make do you think asking for $35,000 would be asking to much? I would be moving two steps up from where I am now so it's not a lateral move. I guess what I am trying to say is pharmaceutical companies are know for having money and this company has been around since 1985 so I just did not want to shoot myself in the foot by not ask for enough. The website said the have competitive pay. I feel I deserve this much I just don't want to over do it.

can someone explain to me why it is that guys like to go for girls who are super skinny? is it the model complex? I am not fat, I am not stick skinny, I am normal. But I still wonder. Is looks the main thing? I am told that I am gorgeous all the time....yet, guys have to get to know me before they make decisions. I mean I have feelings and a sense of humor and I'm not just beauty. Can y'all just please explain a few things about what you first see in a girl? I understand the obvious looks is the first thing. But what about if the girl is dumb as a rock but gorgeous? Where do you go from there?
