No benefits for you until you are married but the baby will be covered after he is born. Once you are married you get great health insurance. A lot of people complain about military health coverage but it is much better than a lot of civilians have and I have never had a bad experience. I have had two babies, knee surgery, and emergency surgery without paying a dime. Not to mention regular annual stuff and the usual UTI and strep throat stuff. No out of pocket expense at all. (and you don't have to be at a military facility. It depends on your location and the services they offer there)

You will also be elligable for life insurance. It costs a very minimal amount and is good to get.

Have a quick legal ceremony so that you are covered and then do your wedding and reception whenever you want.

I wonder why folks like you don't get married? You're pregnant and IF you were married to him, you'd get your pregnancy taken care of. But until YOU have to pay for it. There are so many benefits to be had (monetarily and legally) if you're married. Until then, the military looks at you as a NON-PERSON. You're not related. If he puts HIS name on the birth certificate HIS AND YOUR son will be considered his dependent, but if you two aren't married, you're still a NON-PERSON.

No benefits for YOU unless you are married to him.

The baby will have insurance thru him as long as he claims paternity and is on the birth certificate.

Do not get married just for the benefits - bad idea for all 3 of you.

If you get married cause you love one another - then you'll get medical insurance as well.

for you none at all....for your son IF the father so chooses to put him on his page two and signs him into Tricare, then and only then would the child be taken care of medical wise, as for any other benefits then unless you are named as a beneficiary on his SGLI then again you will get nothing and it will go to his named person.

Maybe it might be better for your boy friend to discuss this with his recruiter, I know when my son joined last year they where VERY against there being any babies in the offering, at least this was the air force..............

As for IF you get married, your medical would be fully covered from the time you are accepted into Tricare NOT from the time you get married...............and you would also be able to apply for base housing...this is NOT such a perk anymore......and please only get married for the right reasons...........also please bear in mind he will be pretty poorly paid for a while................

There are some for your son, not for you

If you were married you could deliver in aa military hospital and not have to pay.

As it is, your son can get care at a military facility or he can be covered by Tricare insurance. But your medical needs are not covered at all

Well you really don't get too much you get housing when he really gets in;Property Tax exemptions if he on the deed as well; Ohh also when he really joins and he gets insurance if anything were to happen to him in service you would be the beneficiary. Your child gets educational benefits. Congrats!!
