Satire plays an important part in Mark Twain’s classic, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. In chapter 2, The Glorious Whitewasher, were Twain satirizes chores. Kids hate doing chores and will do anything to get out of them for that reason he demonstrates satire by making fun of that fact and bragging about how fun it is, making the kids want to do it for him. Mark twain utilizes satire when he satirizes church by having every one get distracted by a beetle and a poodle dog. He knows that people get easily distracted in church by the littlest things so that is what he is satirizing. Satire plays in important part in making humor when tom has to take the painkiller and he gives it to his cat. (?) “He pried his mouth open and pours down the pain killer and the cat sprang a couple yards in the air and then delivers a war whoop and set around the room banging against furniture, upsetting flower pots and making general havoc. Satire is utilized many times in Mark Twains, Tom Sawyer.

ok, so theres this guy, and he's four years older than me, i no it may not seem like a big deal, but i thnk he might thnk it is when he finds out how old i am. I really like him, but i dont want to tell him because i dont want the friendship to be risked. Were sorta good friends, i wouldnt say best friends, but we are friends, and i want him to know that i like him, but i dont want to tell him. Also, how can i get him to like me or see if he already does? i see him looking at me as if hes in a daze sometimes, but idk. HELP PLEASE!!

I have a 10 gallon that I would like to use as a breeding tank. My dd wants mollies but I read they need 30 gallons. Guppies look easy enough but I kind of want to try gouramis.
What do you think for a beginner? I can buy more tanks or supplies if you think I should....

I am going to Tokyo, Tome, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, and Yanagawa. So far, I want to go to Harajuku, Puroland (Sanrio themepark in Tokyo), and... thats about it! Can you tell me some things I should do? (foods to try, places to go, shopping districts, ect.) I don't need to much to do for Nara and Hiroshima, because my school is doing a big planned tour for that, but I need to find some interesting things to ask my homestays to take me to in Tokyo, Yanagawa, and Tome. (Tome is a fairly small town, its in the country, and I doubt you'll find interesting things to do there, hahaha.)

My point is, with all this blather about immigrants stealing low paying jobs, no--it's jobs Americans don't want, no--the wage should be increased so Americans WOULD pick lettuce, etc, is that if a typical worker could pick, say, 100 head in an hour, and we agreed to increase wages the HORRIBLY INFLATIONARY $2.00 MORE PER HOUR THAT WOULD WREAK HAVOC FOR FOOD PRICES AND DRIVE AMERICA INTO AN ECONOMIC DEATH SPIRAL, it'd add a whopping TWO CENTS to each head of lettuce. Since the price fluctuates more than that normally, what am I missing here? Thank you.

I'm curently a civil engineer student. Last semester I earned a 78 percent average for a final grade in trig. I earned this grade by barely studying for any of the tests. I really want to be an engineer, but I'm afraid that I wont be a successful one in the future. Is there anyone that is a successful engineer with a C average in math? How much math is going to be used in my career? If so, what other field of engineering will require less math?
