In democracies, the obligation to prepare and disclose financial information requires the approval of the legislature or an authorised standard-setting body. Thus, standard-setting is a political process in which different groups lobby for their interests.

The war started because of suspected WMDs. But why would we just start killing people for that? Now it is because of terrorism?! Aren't we the terrorists in the middle east? Bombing for peace is like having sex for virginity. And what did Saddam have to do with the nonexistent WMDs and terrorism? I understand that he was not a good leader but what was the relevance in capturing him to the mission in Iraq (it wasn't for liberation, look at Iraq now)? I have friends in the military that were stationed in Iraq that did not really know what they were risking their lives for. I need a time line, not one that the government has made for us, because it seems that they have the ability to alter reality...for example Bush had nothing to do with the Katrina catastrophe. Oh jeebs, I am asking for it huh? (Don't worry you can tell me what you think, my parents are very conservative republican religious Bush fanatics, I am open to whatever explanations you may have.)

In many many years technology advances to a point where we can run “ancestor simulations”. These are computer programs that mimic Earth and populate it with artificial minds. They are detailed enough for the minds to be conscious and have experiences like ours. Eventually these simulations can be run on any desktop pc and so there are billions of them all over the world.
Thus, if we do invent this technology, the balance of probability suggests we are living in a simulation.

I seperated from my wife two years ago after going through a really tough time. We had our house reposessed and ended up staying with the mother-in-law for four years. This was tough enough for me to handle without the added stress of my wife ignoring me when she got home from work. When she got home, she would text the work colleagues that she had just left, leaving me to boil up inside. this was the root of most of my problems. It made my blood boil that she would rather speak to her workmates, than me. The arguing that followed was taken as me being posessive and not trusting her. I love her very muchand can't stop thinking about her daily. I think she is seeing someone else, which is tearing me appart. Please help!!

About a week and a half ago I had gotten a cold sore, and after I told my boyfriend, he still kissed me, until I told him it was contagious. Four days later, he started having getting a canker sore under his tongue and a sore throat. Now his gums are swollen and it seems what appears to be that his taste are missing on a part of his tongue. I can't help but to blaim myself for what's happening to him, but just to be sure that it's only cold sores that is the matter with me I've planned to get myself checked as soon as possible. I've never heard of a cold sore doing that much damage, but can it be possible. By the way this was his first occurence with a cold sore, and I am aware of them being part of the herpes simplex virus, but not to be so harmful.

I mean there are so many problems with that. You have diseases that could be brought here, and besides that there are many many other things. We know nothing about these illegals and I feel we deserve the right to know who's coming here and if they have a violen history. Should we not have the right to know thier background before entering? If your a LEGAL immigrant then I applaud you for coming here the right way, It's the illegals who are ruining it for everyone. I just dont see how the illegal supporters are so blind to the many problems that illegals cause. They are really hurting it for the ones who follow the rules.

I am 22, white, intelligent, and great looking. I want to move to Brazil with a friend of mine who falls under those same categories. We want to be close to the beach, a great night life, gorgeous women, and a good time. We need a good aaaass to cost of living ratio. :) We do not have tons of money but will be moving with roughly 5 grand each. We were hoping to get a job down there, but didn't know if this was even possible? Is it? Also we will probably rent for the first 6 months or so, to figure out if we would like to stay. Can you guys give me any ideas as to where I should move to in Brazil. I like the sound of Rio De Janeiro but it seems to be the most expensive? Any other cities you could recommend for me to live in that fall under my categories? Any information would be helpful. Thanks guys!
